The Fairfield Inn and Residence Inn South--is currently looking for a dynamic sales professional to lead our sales team in the role of Dual Director of Sales. This is a full time opportunity with an annual base salary range of $45,000 - $61,000 based on previous experience. This also includes a potential quarterly bonus of $6,100.-- The purpose of the Director of Sales is to sell the hotel rooms and meeting rooms, be the driving force for Business Segment booking, employing marketing and advertising expertise, as well as representing the hotel publicly, both in the general community and business community. The Director of Sales is also responsible for the sales staff and all necessary means to facilitate their success, as well as providing statistical reports relaying status of departmental performance. A flexible work schedule is required--based on groups and different events happening at the hotels.-- Who Are We? Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Market and sell hotel and amenities
  • Create marketing plans, quarterly and annually
  • Responsible for hiring, training, coaching, counseling, and terminating sales staff.
  • Represent hotel and designated functions
  • Participate in local chamber of commerce and visitor's bureau events
  • Participate in local Lodging Association
  • Operate department within RHW budgetary guidelines
  • Ensure that sales staff has the supplies needed to sell the hotel
  • Develop and design the advertising for the hotel
  • Meet with clients and companies on a regular basis to ensure account saturation
  • Maintain a good working relationship with competitor hotels
  • Maintain all sales filed in an orderly and usable manner
  • Approve all negation strategies before being submitted to GM for finalization
  • Available to work on call and accessible via cell phone at all times unless otherwise excused. Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Organize weekly sales meetings
    • Participate in RHW and hotel sponsored events
    • Serve on Safety committee
    • Develop the Annual Budget
    • Attend staff meetings
    • Assist the hotel in oversell situations
    • Participate in the hotel RFP process
    • Assist in maximizing revenue through restrictions Additional Job Duties and Responsibilities
      • Helping with room setup, empty trash, etc.
      • Assist other departments as needed or assigned
      • Running outside errands to pick up items
      • Develop and maintain rapport with other RHW Hotels
      • Work and communicate with other departments to ensure the smooth operation of the hotel
      • Assist with the organization of renovations
      • Maintain an image of professionalism and competence to guests, clients, and hotel personnel at all times Supervisory Responsibilities
        • This position includes direct supervisory responsibility over the sales staff as well as the assistance of supervising all hotel staff. Decisions Employee Empowered To Make
          • May prioritize work daily
          • Schedule and meet with advertising vendors
          • Offering rates and rate codes to qualified clients Decisions Employee Should Seek Approval Before Implementing
            • Overspending the budget
            • Any other decisions outside normal practice guidelines
            • Termination of employment for any member of the sales staff
            • Drastic discounts off regular published rates Educational Requirements
              • High School Diploma or GED Required
              • Bachelor's Degree is Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or similar field preferred. Work Experience
                • Must have at least 2 years experience in a hotel or similar field as an Account or Sales Manager
                • Experience in a leadership role - leading a team of people is preferred. Skills and Experience The following is required Familiarity With:
                  • Property Management System Expertise (PMS)
                  • Budgeting
                  • Forecasting
                  • Navigation of P&L
                  • Revenue Management Proficiency in:
                    • Prospecting Skills
                    • Business correspondence writing skills
                    • Must be fluent (reading/writing/speaking) in the prevalent language of the guests
                    • Microsoft Office Suite
                    • Presentation Skills Must have demonstrable experience in:
                      • Building and developing teams
                      • Negotiation and Contract Management
                      • Strategic thinking and subsequent execution of related plans
                      • Market Knowledge

                          • Must be able to assist with pushing and pulling of large or awkward objects

                          • Must be able to spend extended periods of time on the computer and/or phone
                          • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds alone
