Job Summary
Assist the Facility Security Officer with day to day management of
the National Industrial Security Programs (NISP), in all aspects of
Management, Administration and Operations, with concentrations in
the areas of Personnel Security, Classified Material Services and
Self Inspection Program. Provide direct support and guidance to two
Laboratory Directors and their assigned personnel in NISP
requirements. Act as the Facility Security Officer in his/her
absence. May be responsible for setting employee goals, assessing
employee performance and providing feedback, and making pay
recommendations. Interact with two Lab Directors and Associate Lab
Directors, division managers and professional and support staff; in
addition, professional counterparts with government and
industry.
Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 -
Assist in the management of the National Industrial Security
Program; provide security consulting support to one or more
laboratories, manage the Self Inspection Program and administer
Process Improvements within the department and facility.
Job Duty 2 -
Manage the annual self-inspection program to provide government
compliance. Maintain annual statistics, coordinate and facilitate
department meetings, complete progress reports. Advise management
of areas that are not in compliance and recommend solutions of
reaching compliance before annual inspection. Coordinate with
government as needed.
Job Duty 3 -
Develop and implement process improvement initiatives in department
and measure their effectiveness; counsel process owners.
Job Duty 4 -
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School
Diploma
Required Experience
Eight to ten years of job related experience

Management System (SIMS), Defense Information System for Security
(DISS), National Background Investigation Services (NBIS), NBIS
electronic application (eApp), Secure Web Fingerprint Transmission
(SWFT) and National Industrial Security System (NISS) database.
Experience organize/preparing correspondence, developing reports,
and accomplishing Travel Authorizations/Travel Expense Reports.
Experience assisting Project Director with scheduling of meetings
and events; purchasing support items for projects, office supplies
and consumables.
Expereince assisting with management of office operations such as
lease agreements, cleaning services and IT support.Preferred
Educational Qualifications
Certifications are not required for job but are preferred such as
Industrial Security Professional (ISP) through the National
Classification Management Society (NCMS) or Certified Protection
Professional (CPP) through the American Society for Industrial
Security (ASIS) International.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
SKILLS
Working knowledge of the requirements contained in the DoD National
Industrial Security Program Operating Manual; require thorough
knowledge of JPAS, ISFD, SIMS and Microsoft office products;
superior verbal and written communications skills;

Anticipated annual salary $71,008.00 to $96,572.00 commensurate
with qualification
