Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Health & Safety Analyst to
join our team supporting SMORS program. The position is based at a
facility in Colorado Springs.
This role identifies hazardous workplace conditions and takes
preliminary samples and measurements of hazardous forces and toxic
substances, removes hazards and/or protects employees by guarding,
revising work procedures, and training or requiring use of
protective clothing and personal protective equipment. Takes
effective steps to ensure that workplace conditions comply with
applicable federal and state occupational safety and health
standard provisions of any labor agreement, ensuring that all
required records are prepared and maintained. Participates in
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections
and in any procedures that may follow a citation. Investigates,
prepares, and forwards as required reports on injuries and
fatalities. Conducts safe work procedures training courses.
Job responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the
following:
Interprets federal and state laws, regulations, and orders as they
apply.
Implements policies and procedures to ensure that these practices
follow the appropriate statutes and regulations and that reporting
requirements are met.
Ensures that inspections are conducted, corrective actions are
completed on time, and all necessary documentation is kept.
Investigate and resolve compliance problems, questions, or
complaints received from within the company, customers, government
regulatory agencies, etc.
Develop and implement programs designed to increase employee
awareness and knowledge of compliance policies.
Audits and evaluates current policies, procedures, and
documentation for compliance with government laws and
regulations.
Identifies hazardous workplace conditions and takes preliminary
samples and measurements of hazardous materials and potentially
toxic substances.
Removes hazards and/or protects employees by guarding.
Revises work instructions and procedures as necessary.
Takes effective steps to ensure that workplace conditions comply
with applicable federal and state occupational safety and health
standard provisions or any labor agreement, ensuring that required
records are prepared and maintained.
Participates in Occupational Safety and Health Administration
(OSHA) inspections.
Supports requirements to maintain OSHA Voluntary Protection Program
(VPP) participation at the work site.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with 5 years of related experience; 3 years of
related experience with a master's degree; 0 years of experience
with a Ph.D.; 9 or more years of experience may be considered in
lieu of a degree.
Active/Current/Interim Secret security clearance or higher, must
have the ability to maintain or obtain higher clearance as
needed.
Experience in Health & Safety Compliance or another related field
of experience
Proficiency in MS Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with ISO 45001 occupational health & safety management
systems
OSHA General Industry Training (30 hour)
Experience with OSHA voluntary Protection Program
Salary Range: $78,500 - $117,700
This position's standard work schedule is Monday through Friday.
The role can support a hybrid work schedule which would be Mondays
and Fridays can choose to work from home but must be in the office
Tuesday through Thursday.
