Software Product Owner with Security Clearance

Job Description:

Job Summary The Product owner quickly becomes an expert in TMC programs and products. They work closely with leaders to understand product requirements and create the product road-map. They create, maintain and prioritize the product backlog as a tool to communicate work, features and deliverables to the scrum development teams. They are the product leader on the scrum team and work closely with the Scrum Development Team, Scrum Master, Leaders and Stakeholders. They lead backlog grooming, keep the backlog up to date, lead product demos, provide progress and metrics on product goals and timing. The Product Owner is responsible for product MVP, what can be implemented from stakeholder demo feedback and for providing product information to the development team to accomplish the vision and all requirements for product deliverables. Job Duties Understands all product requirements and features within scope and provides the vision, direction and priority to the development scrum team through clear communication, discussions, product backlog management and scrum ceremonies. Works with leaders and stakeholders to create the Product Roadmap and maintain it to continually show current progress. Develops and maintains good working relationships with leaders, key stakeholders and scrum team while clearly communicating development progress, challenges and feedback through stakeholder demos and providing relevant artifacts/metrics. Owns and maintains the product backlog and ensures the appropriate level of details exist in the product backlog items with definition of done and priority of work for the team while actively managing the backlog to ensure the team always has upcoming work that aligns to the roadmap and releases. Communicates the product roadmap to the scrum team and steers the team to milestones and releases by ensuring clear communication on goals, features and on-going prioritization of work. Actively participates in all scrum ceremonies including story mapping, backlog refinement, sprint planning, retrospectives and daily stand ups. Is available and actively engaged with their team and motivates them a with clear product requirements, goals and celebrating success. Other duties as assigned Specific Skills Required Extensive understanding and in-depth knowledge of Agile methodology, principles and teams including Scrum, Kanban and the role and responsibilities of the Product Owner in an agile organization. Ability to communicate different messages to different people about the product at any given time. Desire to delivery high quality products that meet all requirements for features, security and quality. Outstanding communication, organizational and time management skills in addition to effective presentation, leadership and relationship building skills. Ability to facilitate roadmap and release planning sessions as well as provide technical guidance on product requirements. Experience with agile software tools such as JIRA Understanding of government security requirements and access controls for delivery of software solutions. Experience & Qualifications Active Top Secret/SCI clearance Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) 3+ years experience as a Product Owner 3+ years in Agile Software Development Bachelor's Degree with 3+ years experience or 5+ years experience with Associates degree. Preferred: Experience with Software Defined Radio platforms (Ettus, Analog Devices, Xilinx, ICE) and radio communication technologies (Matlab, Simulink, GNU Radio, X-Midas, C/C++, CUDA) Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a teammate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
