opportunity for a Sr Principal Systems Engineer - Global
Requirements Lead to join our team of qualified, diverse
individuals. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO.
, area and Schriever Space Force Base or Huntsville, AL. Position
Overview: The Command and Control, Battle Management, and
Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense
System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S.
president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at
strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan
ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop
collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked
sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission
objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability
that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all
phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier that globally and
regionally networks integrate, synchronizing autonomous sensor and
weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2BMC is
integral to all system ground and flight tests, which verify and
exercise all current and future missile defense system
capabilities. The successful candidate will work as a member of the
systems engineering team to develop innovative solutions to
existing and new problems in their areas of expertise and ensure
that the requirements of the system are understood and implemented
correctly. Essential Functions:
- Provide Systems Engineering leadership to ensure a disciplined
approach to the definition, development, and analysis of system
capabilities
- Use related systems engineering tools and documents to analyze,
understand, and propose changes to systems engineering analysis,
user CONOPS, system operational concepts, and system and interface
requirements specifications in support of C2BMC
- Work towards future BMDS capabilities such as sensor
management, tasking, cueing, and discrimination architectures
- Participate in developing, executing, and analyzing the results
of various software tests in a lab environment as needed
- Coordinate engineering disciplines in resolving system-level
issues
- Learn, understand, and represent the perspectives of
warfighters, operators, and systems owners, ensuring they are
respected throughout the engineering effortsBasic Qualifications:
Please note your updated security clearance and IAT/relevant
certifications on your resume, if applicable.
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Computer Science, Technology,
Engineering, Software Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline from
an accredited university and 8 years of related experience, or a
Master's degree in a related discipline and 6 years of experience,
or a PhD and 4 years of experience
- Applicants must have a current active in-scope DoD-issued
Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is
required to start. - All applicants must have the ability to obtain
and maintain a Top Secret security clearance once they start.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business
needs
- Understanding of systems engineering processes and
principles
- Familiarity with the application and use of systems engineering
tools for requirements management and Object-Oriented requirements
definition - DOORS is required
- Experience working in an integrated team environment with other
systems, software, and specialty engineers to develop
solutions
- Ability to analyze high-level needs and use a structured and
logical approach to refine those needs into an integrated set of
requirements that leads to a fielded product
- Ability to lead/perform portions of the work and direct the
activities of other systems engineers
- Ability to work directly with multiple customer and contractor
organizations is a must
- Able to write and implement engineering plans within a
project
- Excellent communication skills are required, as is the ability
to effectively and clearly present technical approaches and
findingsPreferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in the space defense domain including
operational and technical issues associated with specific areas of
the missile defense domain such as engagement management, track
management, sensor management, networks, etc. is preferred
- Experience using MDNT processes and methods are desirable
- Applicant must obtain an upgrade to DoD Top Secret clearance on

C2BMCSalary Range: $124,900 - $196,700The above salary range
represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers
a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the
scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's
experience, education, skills and current market
conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for
overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition
to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual
contributions as well as allow employees to share in company
results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be
eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman
provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage,
life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays
