Enterprise Linux Ground Up Build Engineer (SI&T Level IV)
Location (City/State/Zip Code): Colorado Springs, CO BESL is
looking for a qualified Senior System Integration and Test engineer
for the Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Ground Up Build (GUB) team
in Colorado Springs, CO. The engineer's responsibilities include
assessing and mitigating system security threats and risks
throughout the program life cycle, conducting system assessment and
authorization planning, testing and validation activities in
coordination with government customers, supporting secure systems
operations and maintenance, conducting internal information
technology system audits and risk assessments, and reporting
findings and recommendations for corrective actions to management.
Additionally, the engineer is responsible for interpreting,
analyzing, and reporting all events and anomalies in accordance
with directives, as well as safeguarding information against
unauthorized use, infiltration, exfiltration, modification,
destruction, or disclosure of national security information.
Essential Functions: Requires experience working with the Red Hat
Enterprise Linux operating system Minimum of 3 years' experience
working with RHEL and System Integration and Testing Able to
communicate inside and outside of team, to include customers and
vendors, to explain and interpret operational processes, best
practices, and procedures Work individually and part of a team in a
diverse, rapidly changing environment Able to support multiple
programs concurrently and provide direction to RHEL GUB team Work
consists of making significant updates to systems and processes to
solve problems. Works to achieve operational targets within job
area with some impact on department results. Contributes to the
completion of milestones associated with specific projects
Researches, evaluates, tests, recommends, communicates, and
implements new software or devices Implements, enforces,
communicates, and develops security policies or plans for data,
software applications, hardware and telecommunications. If you

with RHEL (RHCSA Certification within 6 months of employment) Must
have Security + (CE) (6 months to complete after employment)
Experience with testing (or equivalent position) on classified
and/or unclassified systems under NISPOM Chapter 8, NIST 800-53 and
or NIST 800-171 Have practical experience running security
compliance scans and interpreting vulnerability scanning results
(Nessus, SCAP) Experience completing DISA Security Technical
Implementation Guidelines (STIG) checklists Experience with JIRA
and Gitlab tools Experience with BASH, Python scripting languages
Experience with Linux/Unix Information System Security requirements
to include archiving audit log data Experience with VMware and
virtual environments Must be able to achieve and maintain a DOD
Security clearance Preferred Skills: Knowledge on ACAS and has
official training (DISA), Linux/RHEL auditing experience,
knowledgeable of RMF Continuous Monitoring as well as SCC - STIG
and STIG Scanning Knowledge/experience with Ansible, Kubernetes,
and OpenShift. Education/Certifications: Graduate degree with 0-2
years' experience Bachelor's degree with 3 years' experience
Associates degree with 6 years' experience Other (optional notes):
Work is conducted on site. Member must agree to acquire Red Hat
Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) and Security Plus within 6
months of employment. Pay Data (Range): $105,000 - $125,000
Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act Statement: BESL complies with
Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The salary range for this
particular effort in Colorado is approximately $105,000 - $125,000
