Northrop Grumman Space Systems - Launch and Missile Defense Systems
has an exciting career opportunity for a Sr. Principal Systems
Engineer - Run-Ahead Project Lead to join our team of qualified,
diverse individuals. This position will be located out of Colorado
Springs, CO.
Position Overview:
This position will support the Run Ahead Product Chief (PC) in
leading the team in support of S8.2-5, S8.2-7, future
spirals/builds, and as needed, O&M tasking. Work will require
interfacing with team members, C2BMC management, and government
customers to ensure high quality products are generated on time and
within the resources available.
Some travel between Huntsville, AL and Colorado Springs, CO will be
required.
Essential Functions:
The position supports the creation and review of interface
documents, system requirements, Verification Cross Reference Matrix
(VCRM) development, architectural documentation, system engineering
estimates, and authors/performs formal and informal engineering
reviews.
Support to ECPs, proposals, and engineering estimates will be
required.
This position will focus on the technical aspects of the PC role by
ensuring an appropriate technical solution is designed and
developed, but will support the PC in all of their
responsibilities. T
his position will work often with program and solution leadership
to represent the Run Ahead team's performance and decisions.
Basic Qualifications:
If applicable, please note your updated security clearance and
IAT/relevant certifications on your resume.
An active Secret clearance is required.
9 Years with Bachelor's degree in a related field; 7 years'
experience with a Master's degree.
Candidate should possess the ability to be part of an integrated
team tasked with developing and maintaining the physical,
functional, and technical requirements baselines necessary to
describe the desired capabilities of an evolving BMDS Battle
Management, Command & Control, and Communications (C2BMC)
system.
Candidate should have demonstrated experience in mission analysis
with skill in development of use cases, sequence diagrams,
interface definitions and capability concept briefings.
Candidate should be an experienced user of the DOORS tool.
Experience with requirements solicitation, derivation, and
decomposition to lower level subsystems and components.
Maintenance of system and component baselines in a requirement
management system; defining the relationships between internal and
external components; communicating system level use cases and
associated Epics and Feature relationships to a diverse group of
customers, developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and
users.
Skills generating system/element level functional, performance, and
interface specifications to document and control the achievement of
the desired capabilities.
Experience must include specific roles on the program with respect
to use case development, requirements solicitation, derivation, and
decomposition through a structured and logical approach, interface
definition, capability concept development, etc.
Demonstrated ability to analyze high level needs utilizing use
cases/scenarios and relate them to the requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of C2BMC.
Experience with Agile Methods, and Epic and Feature definition is a
significant plus.
Skills in logical architecture modeling and/or interface
definition, as well as knowledge of cyber security concepts and
security accreditation are highly desirable.
Experience with Cyber Security, the Risk Management Framework (RMF)
and network design are desired.

Additional Northrop Grumman Information:
Salary Range: $117,900.00 - $176,900.00
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to
base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual
contributions as well as allow employees to share in company
results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be
