commitment to the mission. The Space and Strategic Operations Group
provides program management, engineering services, and analytic
support to the US Space Force, US Space Command, US Strategic
Command and NASA. Our work includes developing approaches and
concepts to meet emerging, high priority national defense needs,
and assessing cutting-edge technologies and capabilities to meet
those needs. SPA is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer/Project
Lead. Responsibilities * Provide direct and ongoing leadership for
a medium sized software development team using lean and agile
development principles * Provide personnel management for
developers providing annual performance reviews, coaching and
career development; * Communicate project status and discuss issues
with program and business stakeholders * Participate in system
requirements elicitation, analysis and review; plan work per Agile
and SCRUM best practices and processes based on priorities;
participate in Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Demos and
Sprint Retrospectives; actively manage the product backlog; act as
the surrogate Product Owner * Follow software engineering best
practices and processes * Collaborate and clearly communicate with
contractors, customers, stakeholders, and engineers across the
program and functional work groups on system feature and issues *
Lead the design, development, testing and deployment of the
application database, back-end server code and front end user
interfacing taking into account modern user interface techniques. *
Support the Discovery and Framing process for the user interface
and follow-on end user interviews to gather user requirements.
Perform a user-centered approach in the application design
development. * Advise on product decisions through user research,
customer development and iterative feedback loops * Support the
delivery of the application from development environments to
staging and production environments using DevSecOps and CI/CD best
practices to include the integration of unit and integration tests.
* Document designs, process/information flow through the
application, User Guides, Programmer''s Guides, Installation Guides
* Support the delivery of the application from the unclassified
development environment to a staging and production environment on
classified systems. * Apply strong technical and managerial
capabilities and best industry practices to proactively advance
every project you''re assigned to. * Complete Weekly and Monthly
Status Reports Qualifications Required Qualifications: * Bachelor
or Master of Science in Computer Science or related engineering
discipline from an accredited college or university. * Minimum 10
years'' experience as a Software Engineer (SWE) in programs of
moderate to large-scale complexity and scope. (One year of relevant
education may be substituted for one year of required experience.
One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of
required education.) * Scrum Master certification and relevant
experience with leading agile software development teams is
required. * Minimum of 3 years of experience leading an Agile
software development team. Experience in solving software and IT
problems, creating and reviewing system requirements, coaching
technical engineers and collaborating with customers and program
stakeholders. Possess superior oral and written communication
skills to effectively and efficiently convey issues and ideas to
team members, management, and program stakeholders. * U.S. citizen
and active Top Secret clearance required, SCI Eligibility clearance
desired Desired Qualifications: * Demonstrated ability to support
teammates * Use of software development and software design
methodologies * Proven ability to interact with customers and
software development teams in an Agile environment using tools such
as JIRA/Confluence, Git products * Strong analytical and
exceptional problem-solving skills. * Possess a strong work ethic
and are willing to go above and beyond to meet customer
expectations * Experience working in a CI/CD environment using AWS
services, Docker, Kubernetes, Git Lab, Git, Puppet/SIMP, any
deployment orchestration technology * Experience with software
architecture development leveraging open standards, microservices,
and model-based engineering tools to articulate the software design
in a cloud environment. Understanding of SOA and REST APIs. *
Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment
strategies * Experience with software scanning tools such as OWASP
Zap, Twist Lock, Fortify, Tenable, SonarQube, Cucumber, Cypress,
BlackDuck, SoapUI * Experience with multiple programming languages
and tools * * OS: Windows, RHEL, CentOS, Linux * Coding: HTML5,
Java, Python, Node.js, WebGL, JavaScript/TypeScript, Vue, .NET
Core, Entity Framework, Spring, CSS/SCSS/SASS * Messaging:
RabbitMQ, Kafka * Demonstrated communication skills, both written
and oral * Strong understanding of the Software Development
Lifecycle and System Engineering processes and artifacts *
Experience with AWS Cloud Technologies
