Job Description:
Job Summary:The Continuous Improvement Specialist - Grants leads
and executes strategic process improvement utilizing Lean Six Sigma
methodology to achieve high-quality, measurable, and sustainable
results. This includes facilitation and execution of Kaizen events,
and sustainment through standard work procedures. This specific
position will have responsibility for ensuring all requirements
relating to Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) for the Certified
Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) grant are successfully
met. The Continuous Improvement Specialist - Grants will help drive
cultural transformation through cross-collaborative teams through
involvement and talent development. Interacting with and providing
insight and influence at all levels of the organization including
leadership, management, and front-line staff in leading and
encouraging Continuous Improvement initiatives.Essential
Functions:Assess needs, prepare, plan, coordinate, schedule,
organize, and facilitate various Lean and Kaizen events including,
but not limited to, training, workshops, rapid improvement events,
process mapping, and value stream analysisDevelop and implement
data-driven CQI program for CCBHC grant, including routine project
performance assessment and grant evaluation plans.Partner with
department leaders and staff in the implementation of Lean Six
Sigma principles and strategyFacilitate 1-to-5 day Lean Rapid
Improvement Events (Kaizen) and Lean Six Sigma projectsWork closely
with Business Intelligence (BI) team to identify key performance
indicators; collect and analyze data to document existing
processes; recommend opportunities for improvement; and track
progress.Identify metrics and key performance indicators, collect
relevant data, and track progress towards goals.Guide staff in the
identification and elimination of waste using tools such as
standard work, PDSA, and A3 problem solvingConduct root cause
analysis to determine process inefficiencies or weaknessesIn
conjunction with project teams, revise procedures, processes,
and/or methods to improve effectiveness, test alternative
approaches, assist in the implementation of approved
improvements/modifications, provide instruction to front-line
personnel, and perform follow-up to ensure defined outcomes are
achievedEnsure the sustainability of improvementsTrack and
regularly report the results of Continuous Improvement activities
to key stakeholdersParticipate in the development of training
curriculum that fits business needsProvide successful communication
to employees on training opportunities, Lean Six Sigma tools,
successful implementation strategies, and other events via written
and oral presentationsTrain and coach employees in the approach,
tools, and techniques of Lean Six SigmaDrive cross-functional
activities in Process Improvement, Project Management, and Quality
ManagementFacilitate and lead Continuous Improvement events as a
subject matter expert while empowering staff to present ideas and
create improvements and solutionsLeverage best practices gained
through Continuous Improvement activities to other activities which
would benefit from implementation.Collaborate closely with
colleagues and leadership to build and maintain cross-functional
alignmentCultivate and foster positive working relationships with
team members, project teams, executives, managers, supervisors,
employees and other stakeholders to gain cooperation, support, and
buy-in to a culture of continuous improvementApply change
management principles to generate buy-in, maintain alignment, drive
accountability, and ensure standardized tools and methods are used
for initiatives/projectsMeets defined individual goals, activity
metrics, and Key Performance IndicatorsRegular and consistent
onsite attendance is required to perform essential functions of the
jobOther Quality Improvement and Process Improvement duties as
assigned.The environment at Diversus Health is fluid. Roles and
responsibilities may be altered to accommodate changing business
conditions and objectives. Employees may be asked to perform duties
that are outside of the specific work that is listed. This position
may require you to work standard hours, as well as flexible hours
before and after standard hours, and overtime in excess of 40 hours
in a work week.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Strong knowledge and
experience applying Lean Six Sigma principles and/or related
Quality and Process Improvement methodologies and tools (e.g.
DMAIC, SIPOC, Root Cause Analysis, Kaizen Blitz, Value Stream
Mapping, Error Prevention, Daily Management, Visual Management, 6S,
8 Wastes, Change Management, etc.)Demonstrated in-depth
understanding of quality improvement requirements for state and
federal grantsDemonstrated ability to facilitate large- and
small-scale improvement efforts.Expert-level communication,
interpersonal, and informal influencing skills, with ability to use
fact-based and well-thought-out arguments to challenge the status
quo.Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret both qualitative and
quantitative dataAbility to work effectively with different
personalities at all levels of the organizationAbility to hold
performance dialogues and identify root causes of problems with all
levels of the organizationAbility to drive to actionable outcomes
and follow up on resultsExperience facilitating trainings and other
presentationsAbility to work independently and to drive work to

Microsoft Office applications, including Teams, SharePoint, Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, and virtual collaboration
toolsAbility to break down large efforts into manageable

skillsEducation/Experience/License/Certificates:Bachelor's
Degree1-3 years of relevant experience in quality improvement
related to state and federal grantsContinuous Improvement
Certification preferred (e.g. LSS Green Belt, LSS Black Belt, CQIA,
etc.)Formal project management training and skills including
managing multiple project teams and priorities
simultaneously.Previous experience working in the healthcare
service sector and/or quality improvement programs
