Job Description:
Provide subject matter expertise on the system administration
duties within a mixed virtualized and standalone environment to
maintain the current systems and advance the hardware and software
technology used to meet future mission demands of the Ground-Based
Electro-Optical Deep Space Surveillance (System) (GEODSS) mission.
Design, manage, maintain, and upgrade a virtualized development
operations environment to include integrating remote and local
users in the system. Provide the Optical Product Line leadership
with executable courses of action for maintenance and upgrades to
the virtualized environment. Lead the trouble shooting efforts to
restore the system to in case of failure
Essential Functions:
--- Functional expertise and experience with DevSecOps
capabilities:
o Expertise with infrastructure automation with Puppet.
o Software configuration management using Git.
o Artifact repository management using Nexus.
--- Expertise with VMware vCenter Server or VMware
certifications.
--- Ability to use and configure hardware systems: ESXi, KVM, Cisco
Switch.
--- Ansible Automation Software experience.
--- Red Hat Linux System Administration experience with ability to
build / diagnose / troubleshoot.
--- Works independently and in teams to provide architecture-level
oversight for multiple projects.
--- Work with project lead engineers to ensure engineering designs
are sound and fit overall architectural concepts.
--- Contribute to System architecture/definition, use cases, system
performance analysis.
o Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
--- Implement/maintain strong system architectures to include
physical and virtual environments.
--- Work with project lead engineers to ensure project schedules
are being met and identify any constraints/concerns.
--- Provide input to proposals and responses to customer technical
requests.
--- Support/facilitate customer meetings and ensure compliance with
project requirements and overall architectural design.
--- Provide SME-level engineering knowledge and support; includes
briefings to customer, vendor and procurement support, and system
evaluations.
--- Provide technology refresh, system integration, verification
and validation, cost and risk supportability, and effectiveness
analyses for the system architecture.
--- Work will be performed on-site. Remote work will be approved
when necessary.
Qualifications:
--- Education:
o Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant
experience, or
o Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related
experience.
--- Active Secret security clearance required.
--- DOD 8570.01M IAT 2 certification.
Preferred Additional Skills:
--- Experience as an Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) providing
technical team leadership throughout the product lifecycle,
including hardware and software design, integration and test, and
requirements verification.
--- Experience working with the Program Manager, Lead System
Engineer, and Chief Engineer to establish program organization,
schedule and milestones, Planning Packages, Program Management
Reports, and Performance Management Baselines.
--- Experience with total ownership of the day-to-day operation of
the multi-disciplinary/ cross-functional team, ensuring the
associated products are developed and delivered within the allotted
cost, schedule, technical quality, and performance parameters.
--- Experience in systems engineering functions including:
Technical Performance Metrics (TPMs), operations concept
development, requirements management, technical risk management,
interface definition and control.
--- Experience with generation of specification documents, such as
Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and System Description Documents
(SDDs)
--- Manage requirements using the Dynamic Object-Oriented
Requirements System (DOORS).
--- DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level 3 certification.
--- Security Technology to include encryption (HAIPE, IPSec, IKEv2,
PKI).
--- Familiarity with network modeling, design, simulation, and
analysis.
--- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a
technical information environment.
--- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
--- Active TS/SCI Clearance or eligibility is highly desirable.
In compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the
salary range for this role in Colorado is $88000 - $164000 (salary
ranges in other locations could differ). This is not a guarantee of
compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on
factors including but not limited to experience and geographic
