The College of Education at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) will establish and maintain a pool of Lecturers in the Counseling and Leadership program from which future appointments to temporary, non-tenure track positions will be made. Appointments are part-time (less than 50% time) and will be made semester-by-semester. This position will teach graduate and/or undergraduate courses in the Department of Counseling and Human Services Air Officer Commanding (AOC) Cohort and/or the Academy Military Training (AMT) Leader and Leadership Development Certification Program. Possible courses include, Characteristics of the Effective Leader, Leading Teams and Organizations, Leading Diversity, College Student Development, Counseling and Helping Skills, Ethics and Character Development, Mental Health Triage and First Aid, Research and Statistics, Group Dynamics and Group Leadership, College Teaching and Learning, Theories of Motivation and Behavior Change, and Practicum/Internship. Classes primarily meet in-person on-campus at UCCS or at the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA). Please note that we will contact qualified individuals as needed to teach classes. This posting is to create a pool of applicants. This position has been determined to be exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in Counseling, Leadership or a closely related field At least three years of professional experience in the specific course content area Preferred Qualifications: A terminal degree in Counselor Education and Supervision, Counseling Psychology, Educational Leadership, Organizational Psychology, or closely related field. Prior and relevant teaching experience Prior experience with military populations Prior experience teaching or working with the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) or similar higher education settings Holding a certification as a Board-Certified Coach (BCC) or credentialed by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to move Employee is occasionally required to have long periods of sitting, moderate bending, and fine motor skills The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
