Job DescriptionPosition SummaryAtlas Preparatory School seeks a School Bus Monitor. The employee will be responsible for assisting and monitoring the safety and behavioral expectations of Atlas scholars while riding the bus, for home to school transportation, before school and after school. The Transportation Coordinator will directly supervise this position.ResponsibilitiesAtlas Preparatory School's environment welcomes applicants who are relentless in their aim to ensure student growth, safety and who want to help Atlas promote and connect the vision and mission of Atlas to the community at large. Below are some of the tasks required of this position:

• Provide care and assistance to passengers in route and entering or leaving the bus during transportation.
• Maintain and monitor appropriate student behavior.
• Secure students as necessary with seat belts or safety vests and provide assistance to students with medical and/or hygiene needs.
• Assist Bus Drivers with following route directions, preparing written disciplinary action reports, and maintaining the cleanliness of the bus.
• Assist Bus Driver with performing emergency evacuations and drills.
• Attend appropriate inservices, building meetings, training, and/or school functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications and Experience

    • Must have a High School Diploma.

      • Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment, and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator.
