history.Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) is looking for a
qualified individual to join our team as a Systems Engineer to
become part of the Ground Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Program in
support of the Missile Defense Agency. The GMD element, composed of
the Ground Systems and Ground Based Interceptor components, is a
critical part of our nation's layered Ballistic Missile Defense
System providing the U.S. with the capability to engage and
intercept long range ballistic missiles during midcourse flight.
The selected individual will support the GMD Fire Control (GFC)
Command and Control (C2) system development out of Colorado
Springs, CO.Essential Functions:- Develop lower level Hardware and
Software Requirement Specifications derived from Prime Item
Development Specifications and related Interface Specifications-
Work closely with fellow Requirements Engineers and the government
customer to validate requirements- Develop Certification Objectives
to verify and certify requirements- Support Architectural Reviews
and ensure Behavioral Requirements support system Architecture Use
Cases- Ensure decomposed requirements are testable/verifiable- In
addition to the requirement related duties, the chosen individual
may also be tasked to support test efforts with the following
additional duties:- Develop test cases based on requirement
certification objectives and perform test case dry runs to ensure
testability and system functionality- Work closely with fellow test
engineers and support the Formal Test Team- Investigate and report
on Change Requests (CR) and Trouble Reports (TR).Basic
Qualifications:-(level 2); or 2 years of related experience with a
Bachelor's degree for the Systems Engineer (level 2)
position.-(level 3) position; Bachelor's and 5 years of related
experience or a Master's and 3 years of related experience to
qualify for the Principle Systems Engineer- Ability to obtain a
U.S. Government DoD Interim Secret security clearance prior to
start date and ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security
clearance- Working knowledge of the Agile process in software
development and testing environments- An understanding of the
Systems Engineering Lifecycle- Familiarity with software
development requirement/testing methodologies- Experience
writing/tracing requirements for computer processing systems that
monitor and control hardware devices in real time- Experience
developing requirements in a classified database (DOORS experience
preferred)- Strong problem solving skills- Self-motivated and able
to work in a dynamic team environment with both collocated and
geographically dispersed team members with varying experience
levels.- Possess strong verbal/written communications skills to
work effectively in a small technical team environment, and to
accurately represent requirement/test perspectives to system
architects, software designers, other testers and test support
personnel, the Government customer, and personnel in other MDA
programs- Familiar with Microsoft Office products such as Word,
Excel, Power Point.Preferred Qualifications- Active DoD Secret
security clearance- Prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish
project results with limited oversight and direction- Experience
with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) systems, notably command and
control user interface systems- Experience with user experience
domain, to include user research, Graphical User Interface Design,
and front-end software development principles.- Ground-Based
Midcourse Defense (GMD) experience, specifically with GMD Ground
Systems- Experience generating, decomposing, and testing hardware
and software requirements- DOORS database experience- Experience
working with Red Hat environment- Experience working with Atlassian
suite (JIRA, Zimbra, Confluence, Bitbucket)- Familiarity with the
INCOSE Guide for Writing Requirements- Able to write and maintain
test procedures- Demonstrated experience working with diverse teams
in an Agile environment.Salary Range: $114,300 USD - $171,500 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to
base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual
contributions as well as allow employees to share in company
results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be
eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman
