Systems Engineer, you will be developing and sustaining systems
using current technologies and others yet to come. We are seeking

We are seeking applicants for the Sustainment and Modernization of
Radar Sensors (SMORS) program. This position will serve as an
Engineer focused on the Ballistic Missile Early Warning System
(BMEWS) Precision Acquisition Vehicle Entry (PAVE) Phased Array
Warning System (PAWS) (BPP). This position will be located in
Colorado Springs, CO. What You'll Get to Do
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced, team-oriented
environment and be a self-starter, efficient in achieving goals and
proactive in pursuing subsequent tasks.
- Perform System Architecture Design, Development, and
Delivery
- Evaluate system functional and performance characteristics and
requirements to define product and services needs
- Work in a team performing day-to-day delivery order tasks. Such
as and not limited to hardware, software, cybersecurity, test and
sustainability functions.
- Participate in trade studies to support the selection of
preferred design solutions, commercial hardware or software
components, and preferred course of action alternatives
- Participate in system design reviews and creating and/or
updating specifications, designs and technical baseline
documentation
- Support system requirements reviews and creating and/or
updating requirement specifications and technical baseline
documentation
- Generate, review, and update technical baseline artifacts and
collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure specifications
meet system needs and are accurate, comprehensive, consistent and
complete
- Review technical baseline documentation to ensure the design
meets system needs and is accurate, comprehensive, consistent and
complete
- Identify, coordinate and generate risk and opportunity
conditions. Participate in risk analysis and mitigation
formation
- Collaborate with system modelers who use MBSE tools and
techniques to define system interfaces, requirements and
behaviors
- Support the development of system test and/or integration
plans, procedures and scenarios used in the conduct of integration
and testing activities Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or
Mathematics (STEM) with 2 years of CFD, aerospace, defense, or
other product development industry experience; OR Master's Degree
in STEM with 0 years of CFD, aerospace, defense, or other product
development industry experience.
- Experience writing, updating, and/or verification of system
level requirements
- Experience writing, developing, and/or managing project
technical risk
- Experience working with others to solve technical system
problems, such as represented in the V-Model for systems
development lifecycle
- Interim DoD Secret clearance
- Familiarity with MS Office suite of tools (i.e. Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, Project) Preferred Qualifications:
- Active DoD Secret clearance
- Technical writing skills for generating analysis and
reports
- Familiarity with the Ballistic Missile Early Warning System
(BMEWS) Precision Acquisition Vehicle Entry (PAVE) Phased Array
Warning System (PAWS) (BPP) or other ground-based radars such as
the Acquisition Radar Attack Characterization System (PARCS)
- Familiarity or experience with Agile software development
methodologies, i.e. Scrum, Kanban, SAFe
- Experience in using a requirements management tool, such as
DOORS to update and write system level requirements Salary Range:
$74,900 USD - $112,300 USD Employees may be eligible for a
discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are
designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow
employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President
or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In
addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including
