DescriptionJob Description:Leidos has a vacancy for a mid-level systems engineer supporting Space-Based Infrared Systems (SBIRS), PSF/ECPR Program Office, Greeley Air National Guard, Colorado, and Buckley AFB. This technical position conducts research and modernization activities for the SBIRS Survivable and Endurable elements' phased array antennas, data processing subsystems, and UHF communications rack equipment. We provide depot level maintenance support to the 233rd Space Group, Greeley, CO. The systems engineer will update Technical Orders (TO) and compose Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO). They will respond to emergency issues at the 233rd Space Group by providing on-site support and troubleshooting of Mobile Ground Terminals/Communication Vehicles. This includes performing mission vehicle capabilities requirements analyses to develop and prioritize sustainment activities. As a systems engineer, the candidate will support modernization efforts to include requirements analysis, product selection, functional analysis and decomposition. The candidate will also support validation and verification of product suitability and maintainability.This position also serves as the technician team lead and supervises an additional 2-3 technicians. Supervisory responsibilities include mentoring and developing subordinate personnel. Team lead responsibilities include P-Card holder, timecard approvals, job scheduling and deconfliction, prioritizing and scheduling work, producing interim and final reports, providing peer review for team level products, and interfacing with various customer organization points of contact.Primary ResponsibilitiesThe candidate will be responsible for modification projects in the field of electrical, mechanical, or information technologies in support of the overall team goals. Within each task, they will review the performance and environmental requirements and recommend solutions to the lead engineer. Upon the engineering team's approval, they will develop procurement and installation plans. Additional tasks include capturing the work in Space Force Technical Orders. The contract requires the SLMS team to provide emergency or urgent depot level support to return mission equipment to operations. This will require short-term travel to Greeley, Colorado, or other remote operating locations. The individual will identify the cause of the outage and repair the equipment if possible. If immediate repair is not possible, the candidate will support the team in developing a course of action to return the equipment to service and provide status until complete.Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree + a minimum of 7 years work experience
    • Requires an active DoD Secret Clearance
    • Basic electrical and mechanical skills. The ability to troubleshoot complex electrical equipment to include Radio Frequency and power generation. The ability to capture installation, removal and maintenance procedures in the Space Force Technical Order system.
    • An understanding of the systems engineering process to move from requirements to hardware selection and integration.
    • The ability to update technical data packages to include red lining drawings, updating bills of materials and adapting commercial manuals for Space Force use.
    • Project planning and management skills, including: scheduling, general and technical writing, report writing and proofing; computer literate and comfortable using various corporate/client tools for administrative and management functions; and clear, professional level written and oral communication with subordinate, peer, and senior audiences.Preferred Qualifications:
      • Familiarity with power production and HVAC.
      • Familiarity with satellite communications equipment.
      • Familiarity with network configuration, routers and IP configurations.
      • Ability to perform minor modifications using AutoCad or similar software.Ability to work in small teams to resolve technical issuesPay Range:Pay Range $74,750.00 - $115,000.00 - $155,250.00
