customers.Peraton is seeking a Data Scientist to support our Space
Force customer located in Colorado Springs, CO. Remote work
accepted.
Must be a US Citizen and have an active secret clearance.
- Researches, designs, develops, and tests Space weather models
on an AWS Platform.
- Analyzes space weather data to determine designs and
calculations related to Time series data from LaGrange station
keeping satellites.
- Develops design criteria for space weather and models including
testing methods, data definition, quality standards, and
performance metrics.
- Plans and conducts experimental, environmental, operational and
stress tests on computer models and prototypes.
- Evaluates external software and space weather mathematical
models for conformance to engineering principles, to meet customer
requirements, and quality standards.
- Formulates mathematical models or other methods of computer
analysis to develop, evaluate, or modify design according to
customer engineering requirements.
- Reviews performance and data reports and documentation from
customers and engineers.
- Plans, coordinates, directs, and evaluates testing of satellite
systems.
- Performs risk assessment of systems and generates risk
mitigation plans and strategies.Required qualifications:
- BS/BA with 8-10 years of experience, MS with 6-8 years of
experienceTechnical leadership skills:
- Ability to mentor engineers in skills and professional
development in Space weather analysis, mathematical models,
software code dissection.
- Ability to program and understand machine learning models using
PythonMachine learning / AI application experience:
- Conduct and publish research in neural networks and support
vector machines.
- Ability to understand best support Machine Learning models as
applied to data e.g., Tensor Flow, Image Classifiers etc.Customer
relationships:
- Build strong positive working relationships with customer and
be prepared to brief at a potential C-level.
- Must have at least 8-10 years of higher mathematical model
calculations, prefer modeling and simulation experience.
- Mid-level software coding ability to include: Python, Java, C
programming languages.
- Knowledge of current Machine learning models and neural
networks as applicable to the Amazon Web Service platform.
- Proven track record in Space weather or space systems to
include Orbital dynamics.Colorado Salary Minimum: $83,400
Colorado Salary Maximum: $202,400
The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this
