From scheduling to payments, eye wear selection to orthodontics, we make it fun, easy and affordable for children to thrive.MISSION OF THE ROLE:The mission of the Optical Lab Technician is to produce quality eyewear that meets all standards set forth by Hero Vision Lab, and maintain the lab equipment per Academy Kids Vision Center guidelines. OUTCOMES OF THE ROLEIntegrity & Accountability: Understand, monitor, and ensure the smooth execution of lab processes, including but not limited to: (1) completing tasks correctly and on time, (2) Possesses an ability to work on multiple projects, problems or tasks at once. (3) Ability to learn and apply industry tolerance standards when inspecting finished work product.Mission Driven & Patient First: Follow expectations around desired experience and respond promptly to practices needs by (1) Completing Rush Jobs in a timely manner to ensure they go out in the estimated time frame. (2) Package and ship completed orders to correct locations. (3) Utilize machines to perform edging and finishing tasks. Frequently work with equipment such as optical edgers, lensometers, frame warmers, handstones, and small hand tools. Be able to ensure 4 point alignment. (4) Utilize software to access multiple clinics Rx s. After receiving prescription, determine correct lens and frame selection. (5) pull and/or reorder stockCompassionate & Teamwork: Demonstrate a sense of cohesion within the lab that fosters teammate dependability and support by (1) reporting to work as scheduled, (2) listening carefully to others and (3) collaborate with others to provide and understand vision and inspiration to peers by (4) displaying passion and optimism (5) remaining open to others ideas and (6) being able to work in a fast-paced environment with different personalities, (7) Frequently communicates with practices regarding RX orders (8) Works well with members of Hero s leadership team in pursuit of the company s goals.DESIRED SKILLSDemonstrates attention to detail and able to handle a heavy workload. Ability to multitask, manage deadlines, and be able to work under time expectations Order processing systems, Google Docs, Document Portal Spreadsheet software and must be proficient at using Microsoft Word and Excel. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or GED. One year of administrative and customer service experience. Optometric experience preferred, but will fully train.SALARY & BENEFITSFull-time, non-exempt position. Competitive salary and benefits package. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally 50.
