Your Impact: The responsibilities of the AI / ML Specialist include, but are not limited to, providing support to properly align the J2 workforce with the growing use of IC and DoD AI / ML initiatives / projects. Supports the research, acquisition, fielding, sustaining and training of AI / ML tools / applications into the J2 workforce. Creates AI / ML models to run systematic processes on raw data and selecting models that pull the most relevant information from collected data to assist creating IC and DoD machine learning programs to look for or seek out specific conditions in space / space related data and respond based on USSPACECOM PIRs / CCIRs. Supports USSTRATCOM intelligence processes critical to near-term, mid-term, and far-term efforts for the Command, components, and other DoD organizations. Possesses an advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related quantitative field. Here's What You'll Need: Subject Matter Expert (SME) * Demonstrates ability to define problems, supervise studies and lead surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice and recommend solutions. * For analysts, demonstrates analytic leadership and expertise in identifying, planning, developing, and executing analytic production methodologies, tradecraft and techniques aligned with labor category mission. * Demonstrates extensive ability to provide strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to Defense planners and policymaker (e.g. Undersecretary level or higher). * Minimum 15 years of experience relevant to the specific labor category with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years. Desired Requirements: * Desired Education: Master's degree in an area related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Particularly interested in candidate with Engineering or Computer Science background. Data Scientist experience is highly desired. Essential Functions: Physical Requirements: Most work will be done at a desk or computer. Work Environment: General Office environment. The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers. Equipment & Machines: General office equipment including PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment. Attendance: Attendance is always critical. Must be able to work a 40-hour workweek, normally Monday through Friday. However, times and days may vary depending on business requirements. Needs to be available to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime should the situation occur. Other Essential Functions: Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others. Must be able to interface with individuals at all levels of the organization both verbally and in writing. Must be well-organized with the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously. Must work well under pressure to meet deadline requirements. Must be willing to travel as needed. Must take and pass a drug test and background check as well as a motor vehicle records check. Must be a US citizen.
