Job Summary

This position is responsible for executing all phases of new producer contracting as well as assisting in maintaining company licenses and appointments. The Licensing & Contracting Specialist will work co-workers to define, refine and improve the contracting and licensing process and procedures documenting all changes. The position may also have the opportunity to assist or lead special projects. The Licensing & Contracting Specialist will work closely with the New Business team, Internal and External Wholesalers, Commissions, Accounting, IT and Marketing teams.

Essential Job Functions, Duties, And Performance Responsibilities

  • Handles all new agent approvals, to include email management, providing agent appointment number sand updating our internal broker management software.
  • Handles images i.e., agent license copies, Errors and Omissions copies, updating BMS with effective date and expiration dates and distribute/file as appropriate.
  • Notifies agents of outstanding requirements such as AML (Anti Money Laundering Training) and submitting to carrier upon receipt.
  • Processes agent termination forms.
  • Develops relationship with various insurance carrier contacts to inquire and follow up on contracting status/requirements/eligibility for re-contracting.
  • Handles annualization renewals.
  • Runs production reports and export data to Excel spreadsheets.
  • Reviews carrier lapse reports, making appropriate premium adjustments and reversals.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

    • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
    • College degree preferred
      • 2+ years of customer service, operations or equivalent experience required
      • 1+ years working with Life Insurance background preferred

        • Strong working knowledge of PCs, adaptable to new technologies, and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
