Check us out on ERC.US Your role: The Systems Engineering Lead supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. What you'll do all day: Be the Systems Engineering expert to help guide the Systems Engineering team to success. Be a senior engineer, experienced in classic system engineering practices, who can lead a team of Senior and Junior Engineers that support the complete product life-cycle associated with information technology-oriented sustainment projects supporting the C2BMC Test Bed, BNOSC, GM infrastructure, and JFCC-IMD at the MDIOC, Schriever AFB. Supervise and mentor junior engineers in the application of classical systems engineering practices for defining customer interface; system requirements analysis; requirements development; requirements management; risk management; functional analysis; functional architecture development; system design support; trade studies; interface control specification development; verification, including verification case development; impact assessment of customer requests; Integrated Product Team leadership; process improvement; briefing development and presentation; and cross-organization coordination. Help drive the evolution of CLAWs Engineering processes to align with CLAW Organizational Leadership's vision for the Engineering groups, as well as align with IRES' overall Systems Engineering plans and processes by utilizing industry best practices. Build collaborative relationships with all contract and engineering entities on the IRES contract in order to help drive organizational and contract success. Provide guidance and support to ensure healthy conflict resolution across the organization in order to facilitate solutions that meet strategic and tactical objectives. Take on non-traditional roles within the organization with the goal of being able to represent multiple disciplines as the need arises. Build, develop and grow any additional business relationships vital to the success of the organization. Perform leadership duties within the organization such as provide training, leading larger efforts, directing others, approving time cards, and providing employee feedback. Provide superior leadership and guidance to the Systems Engineering staff to: Apply classical systems engineering approaches to requirements analysis, technical assessments and trade studies, and project technical oversight. Provide guidance on the engineering efforts of assigned projects by: Setting the projects scope and objectives. Guiding the project's execution. Evaluating the projects status and prescribing the necessary corrective actions to keep the project on course. Interact with stakeholders to define and understand their problem and document the projects system requirements, system interfaces, system test procedures, and system baseline technical documents such as interface control specification documents, drawings, concepts of operations, requirements traceability matrices, system description documents, build sheets, and test plans. Identify and manage project risks and opportunities and help drive project success. Develop and present project briefing to project stakeholders. Participate in cross-organization coordination. Coordinate with project members to develop testing and verification to ensure system requirements are met. Develop appropriate policies, processes, and/or procedures to ensure continuity and standardization of engineering principals throughout the systems life-cycle. Coordinate with Configuration Management to define configuration items, manage and control configuration changes, and record and report changes to maintain the accurate system baselines. Coordinate with Quality Assurance to develop methods and metrics to ensure that defined standards, practices, procedures, and process methods are applied during/throughout the systems life-cycle. Must have 7 years of directly related experience working with systems engineering processes and tools supporting requirements development, risk management, trade studies/analysis, and V&V Must have 1 year of experience working in a management or leadership role Must be familiar with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Must be proficient with MS Office applications Must have, or be able to obtain, an active DoD Secret Security Clearance Desired skills and experience for this position: Have a Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline, preferably systems engineering or computer/IT Have a systems engineering certification such as ASEP (Associate of Systems Engineering Professional), CSEP (Certified Systems Engineering Professional), or ESEP (Expert Systems Engineering Professional) Have experience with requirements development Be familiar with information technology concepts (i.e., communication networks, computer and networking hardware) Be proficient with MS Office applications (including Visio, and MS Project) Have knowledge of Missile Defense, DoD communications systems, and MDIOC operations What we offer: Competitive salaries.
