Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principle Contracts Administrator (CA 3) to join its team of qualified and diverse individuals supporting its Launch and Missile Defense Systems Division, specifically the Advanced Mission Solutions (AMS), Operating Unit (OU). Note: This position will be in Colorado Springs, CO.The successful candidate will be a direct report to AMS OU Contracts Manager and will work closely on a day-to-day basis with the OU Program Managers/Directors, Business Managers, Operations Managers, Capture Managers, and functional teams throughout the OU.The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of a contract portfolio from the business development phase through closeout, delivering customer satisfaction, building customer relationships and providing timely responses to both external and internal customers. The initial duties of selected candidate will be to provide contracts support to major capture and proposal efforts. These duties will include assisting with all customer communications and correspondence, supporting the writing of Contracts Management proposal sections, preparing representations and certifications, OCI sweeps, and reviewing terms and conditions, technical data rights and assertions and providing the administrative support needed to guide the proposal through the proposal approval process.The candidate will be responsible for administering, extending, negotiating and terminating standard and nonstandard contracts. Additionally the successful candidate will prepare proposals, conduct contract negotiations, perform contract administration, and execute customer contact activities to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications. Candidate will also examine estimates of material, equipment services, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness. Candidate will also be responsible for preparing bids; processing specifications, progress, and other reports; advising management of contractual rights and obligations; compiling and analyzing data; and maintaining historical information.The successful candidate will have the following qualities:
  • Dynamic self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to function independently
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to use them in informing, presenting, and negotiating to all levels of management
  • Team player, independent, proactive, and possess excellent problem solving, oral and written communication, and organizational skills
  • Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic leadership teamBasic Qualifications:To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution with 6+ years relevant experience in contract administration/management or related field or 4 years with a Master's Degree
    • Knowledge of working large competitive DoD proposals
    • Knowledge of negotiating and administering various contract types of varying sizes and types of agreements with the DoD
    • Understanding of the requirements of applicable government regulations (FAR, DFAR)
    • Ability to travel 10% of time
    • Current, active US government clearance at the Secret or Top Secret level.

      Salary Range: 76000 - 114000

      Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
