Tyto Athene has over fifty years of experience supporting Federal State and Local Governments across the United States and around the globe.The Operations and Product Support Services (OPS3) is a staff augmentation and studies analysis contract providing Systems Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) to the USSF Space Systems Command (SSC). The team, comprised of both Tyto Athene and subcontractor personnel, delivers expert advice and analysis to the SSC Directorate of Special Programs' and Enterprise Corps (EC) family of systems. This cadre provides support functions in acquisitions program management, systems engineering, cybersecurity, sustainment engineering and logistics.Tyto Athene is looking for a mid-level Systems Engineer to support USSF SSC Directorate of Special Programs' and Enterprise Corps (EC) family of systems. SSC equips the joint warfighter with space control systems to gain, maintain, and exploit space superiority. This position will provide verification, validation, factory, and site test support to satellite research and development (R&D) programs. The candidate will support the Space Test and Training Range (STTR) program. The STTR ensures safe and secure operations and provides its customers with realistic space environment to support test, training, and exercise activities. The candidate must also demonstrate understanding of cloud computing for product-development and life-cycle management. This includes DoD life cycle program support, DoD systems engineering processes, documents, reviews, and test (development and/or operational).Roles and responsibilities include:Interact with Government sponsors to test new capabilities on existing architectures.Provide engineering level documentation to enable testing and reporting.Review industry system developer test plans, test procedures, and test reports.Aid contractors and review/maintain an integrated master schedule.Assist in development of performance-based logistics as a strategy for cost-effective system support.Participate in technical meetings and government-led studies assess customer requirements.Conduct modernization planning activities, including development, usage, data collection, modification, interoperability, integration, analysis, maintenance, and documentation.Write/review preliminary and final technical reports to support fielding decisions.Support detailed development activities such as: research/identify equipment needs, test resource requirements, etc.Assist in the execution of acquisition strategies, including drafting Statement of Work, Statement of Objectives, Request for Proposal preparations, monitoring deliverables, and attending acquisition related meetings.REQUIRED CLEARANCE: Active Top Secret (TS) clearance and eligible to obtain SCIQUALIFICATIONS:5 or more years of space industry experience.Experience on USAF Acquisition Programs focused on space system research, development, test, and evaluation.Experience with system engineering.Experience with cloud-based application development.Communications and coordination skills with technical team members across multiple organizations to plan, execute, and post-process test activities and data.Must be willing to travel 20% of time.Experience implementing and managing engineering processes and interacting with contractors.EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Math, Physics, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.DESIRED:Familiarity with Space Control Operations and conceptsUnderstanding/use of ARCADE toolsFamiliarity with Enterprise Message Buses (EMBs).Experience with Agile Methodologies.Experience using GOTS orbit determination tools such as MVS, OD++, and ACTRAC5 to 10 years of experience with orbit analysis and prediction, transfer orbits, plane changes, and orbit maneuversExperience with astrodynamics and orbital mechanics tools (STK, SOAP, etc.)Strong oral and written communication skills to support interaction with Government, SETA, FFRDC, external stakeholders and other development contractorsDoD or IC Engineering experienceA team player that is a self-starter and capable of working in a fast-pasted environmentEqual Opportunity Employer: Disability/Veteran
