The candidate for this position will work a wide variety of challenging systems resiliency, security, and cybersecurity activities in direct support of programs and will have opportunities to advance the science of resilient systems engineering for security and other loss concerned needs.To succeed in this position, you must be a subject matter expert in a broad range of security topics ranging from strategy and planning, governance and management, to protection, detection, mitigation, and cyber operations. You will need excellent verbal and written communication skills to present your findings, recommendations and ideas to the Senior Government Sponsors.Day to day responsibilities:Analyze missions and systems for potential loss conditions and unacceptable loss consequences and propose mitigation approachesProvide recommendations on ensuring systems are specified, designed, developed, implemented, integrated, and sustained to meet security, resiliency, and safety needs, goals and objectivesResearch and develop unique, cutting-edge technical capabilities and processes for understanding, assessing, and analyzing system and technology resilience and securityLead systems security analysis and assessments, including identifying risk criticalities and handling options, to inform decision makingLead the development of systems security and cybersecurity strategy development, system testing and evaluation, and verification and validation effortsAnalyze system requirements, software, hardware, supply chain, and integration approaches using analysis tools to identify vulnerabilities and system architecture, design, and implementation flawsDevelop systems security engineering attributes within complex model-based system engineering products in direct support of programsRequired SkillsMaster's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity Engineering, Mathematics, Engineering Physics, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar field8 + years applicable experience.Must have DoD Secret clearance for considerationHands on proficiency using emerging cyber technologiesFamiliarity leading capability development and integration effortExperience working in and briefing senior leaders at DoD major commandsEmploying excellent writing and communication skills to develop / deliver technical explanations and presentations.Success working in a highly collaborative environment with peers and senior government officials.Desired SkillsPreference given to qualified candidates with advanced US Government clearancesFamiliarity with NIST SP 800-160 systems security engineering considerations for systems engineeringFamiliarity with INCOSE defined 30 lifecycle systems engineering processesFamiliarity with military operationsFamiliarity with defensive cyberspace operationsFamiliarity with embedded systems and RF conceptsFamiliarity with Model Based System Engineering toolsFamiliarity with digital engineeringKnowledge of reliability and/or safety engineering methodsThis requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s):This requisition requires the hired candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s):Salary compensation range and midpoint:$140,700 - $190,200 - $268,200 AnnualMITRE requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
