Provides advanced technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environment, high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, training, and implementation advice on complex problems that require extensive knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation.The System Center Configuration Management (SCCM) or Current Branch technician's primary responsibilities include providing technical support and deployment of software on clients and servers throughout the Air Force enterprise environment. This project operates 24x7x365 operations, day, evening, night and weekend shifts. Candidates must be willing to work shifts.The successful candidate will provide enterprise level technical support in SCCM Current Branch and patch management. The SCCM Lead will act as one of the primary patch technicians in an enterprise (> 3000 users) environment using advanced technical troubleshooting tools and applications for problem resolution for the enterprise.Responsibilities:Strong communications skills (message management).Participate in weekly site team lead meetings and disseminate messages to be shared with functional area employees.Represent IAFNOS from a functional area perspective in daily meetings, functional area summits and ensure project and functional area messaging is communicated clearly and professionally, emphasizing a single IAFNOS team (meaning all locations, not just one) when speaking.Supervise functional area team, provide performance feedback, training, mentoring, and develop and communicate each team members growth path and provide continual feedback on progress of employee's progress toward this growth path.Work with other locations to build a culture of a unified team environment.Advise management on employee's progress, or lack thereof toward the growth path defined to the employee and other observations regarding each employee's performance.Develop, coordinate and communicate shift schedules, ensure shift coverage requirements are met as well as TPI, clearance compliance per shift and ensure employees do not feel stuck on a shift.Ensure that as attrition occurs that remaining employees are considered for promotion prior to communicating staffing needs to the site lead.Manage timesheets and employee leave schedules.Participate and encourage employee appreciation initiatives.Create and maintain an environment conducive to employees feeling comfortable expressing concerns or issues.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:12 Years of Experience.Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.Excellent problem solving, customer service, and professional written communications skills.Must possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team of SCCM technicians. Candidate will have the ability to actively participate in team projects and goals by proposing and implementing solutions.Technical Requirements Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM):Must have 1 to 4 years working experience supporting, maintaining and administering core Microsoft technologies in a Microsoft Windows Server 2012/2016 environment.Experience with SCCM, SCCM Current Branch/SMS or related patching products in an enterprise environment.Solid understanding of client/server systems to include Windows Server 2012/2016, and networking fundamentals.A strong knowledge and technical proficiency managing enterprise environments using Microsoft (SCCM) and SQL- both management and querying.Be able to troubleshoot SCCM effectively and understand the patch management, software distribution and logging processes.Have strong skills using Microsoft Management technologies, to include Active Directory services (AD) and Windows Server Update Services skills (WSUS) skills.Preferred Skills:Applicants need good working knowledge and experience with:Creating Batch filesUnderstanding SCCM/WSUS log filesDeploying Software in a WSUS environmentSCCM ComponentsBuilding Queries CollectionsCreating Packages AdvertisementsUsing SQL to build ReportsTroubleshooting SCCM clientsSCCM PermissionsClustering, scripting e.g. VB or PowerShell, WMI and IIS.Virtualization of operating systems and applications (VMware, VSphere, App-V).Certifications Required:DoD 8570 requirement IAT Level II, CompTIA Security or equivalent (no exceptions).Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) Administering and deploying System Center 2012 (or greater) Configuration ManagerClearance:Possess a DoD Secret security clearance (Required)The duties and responsibilities listed in this job description generally cover the nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position.
