Job Description:

The Director of Recruiting, Marketing & Communications shall serve the Eagle Lake Camps and fulfill the responsibilities listed below in the spirit of The Navigators calling, values and purpose: To advance the Gospel of Jesus and His Kingdom into the nations through spiritual generations of laborers living and discipling among the lost.

 

This position is responsible for planning, development and implementation of all recruiting and marketing activities for Eagle Lake Camps. Directs the efforts of the recruiting, marketing and communications teams to meet organizational goals in alignment with the Eagle Lake mission. Protects and champions the Eagle Lake brand. Coordinates at strategic and tactical levels with key leaders across teams to achieve the organizational marketing, communications, and recruiting objectives.

 

The Director of Recruiting, Marketing & Communications also serves as a member of the senior management team and is involved in organization-wide strategic and business planning, evaluation, and professional development initiatives.


Recruiting

  • Responsible for achieving the goals and objectives of the annual recruiting plan.
  • Ensure that evaluation systems are in place related to these goals and objectives and report progress to the Director and Associate Director of Eagle Lake Camps.
  • Oversee and direct the development of summer staff talent pipelines with the EL Recruiting Coordinator.
  • Lead staff recruiting sourcing strategies in collaboration with the recruiting, marketing and communication teams.
  • Measure key recruitment metrics, including source of hire, time-to-hire, and retention.
  • Oversee management of external partnerships with colleges, job boards and HR/software vendors.
  • Forecast hiring needs based on business growth plans.
  • Evaluate and refine sourcing and selection processes.

 

Marketing & Communications

  • Responsible for achieving the goals and objectives of the annual marketing and communications plan.
  • Ensure that evaluation systems are in place related to goals and objectives and report progress to the Director and Associate Director of Eagle Lake Camps.
  • Lead development of long-term marketing and communications plan and ensure adherence to the organizational goals.
  • Oversee the development, design, distribution, and maintenance of high-quality print and electronic materials including, but not limited to brochures, presentations, newsletters, and reports.
  • Lead the strategy and generation of engaging digital content for Eagle Lake’s website, social media and email communications.
  • Ensure that brand identity, messaging and marketing & communications strategy are infused in all organizational efforts (programming, recruiting, customer support, donor cultivation).
  • Responsible for coordinating marketing efforts with Directors of Eagle Lake programs to achieve enrollment goals, and Host Partner acquisition and retention.
  • Responsible for coordinating marketing and communication efforts with the Director of Training and Development and The Navigators Development department to cultivate gift income.

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Serve as a member of the Eagle Lake senior management team.
  • Ensure that the appropriate systems, staffing and procedures are in place to properly and reasonably support recruiting, marketing, and communications efforts
  • Responsible to raise personal support and meet funding requirements per direction of the Director of Training & Development
  • Responsible to assist in the advancement of all Eagle Lake Camps’ programs as needed
  • Participate in development events such as Navigator on-site events, Cultural Development and Diversity trainings or other non-Navigator developmental events as appropriate.
  • Read spiritually and culturally developmental books and literature.
  • Participate in the annual, organizational Plan and Progress Review (PPR) process for self-evaluation and all direct reporting staff.
  • Submit and approve expense reports as needed due the 15th of each month.

  • Belief in and adherence to the Statement of Faith and Mission of The Navigators.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred in the areas of recruiting, communications or marketing related field (e.g. marketing, human resources, business administration, management, advertising, and/or communications).
  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the successful development and execution of marketing campaigns, communications and public relations activities.
  • Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational and personal skills, with the experience of managing multiple projects at a time.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities, proposing new ways of creating efficiencies, and guiding investment in people and system.
  • Flexible and a self-starter; able to manage multiple concurrent projects while also being highly detail-oriented with an attention to quality.
  • Personal qualities of integrity, teachability (a willingness to learn and grow), adaptability, and a commitment to Eagle Lake’s mission and Core Values.
  • Must be willing to travel 25%-35%.

 

Compensation Range: $45,725.09 - $59,442.62 annually
