The N111 Space Enterprise Architecting Department's mission is to provide thought leadership and data driven analysis to enable the Department of the Air Force and the US Space Force to design, develop, acquire and integrate future warfighting space Force Designs, including space System-of-Systems architectures and space programs, in time to outpace accelerating threats.
As a Lead Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) Systems Engineer, you will serve as a subject matter expert and senior MITRE technical leader to the US Space Force (USSF) Space Operations Command (SpOC). You will apply your technical knowledge of PNT, systems engineering expertise to help the USSF SpOC develop more capable and resilient space PNT capabilities. You'll be on the leading edge of delivering advanced space capabilities. Your leadership and innovation will be vital to making the sponsor successful.Responsibilities include:

• Senior technical advisor on PNT to SpOC S5
• Conduct analysis, develop options and recommend technologies, solutions, and requirements needed for future PNT capabilities
• Provide systems engineering and JCIDS implementation expertise
• Guide the development of PNT concepts, strategies, and system integration
• Guide the technical development of future PNT systems
• Identify PNT shortfalls, gaps, issues and provide recommended corrective actions
• Identify PNT capability gaps and provide recommendations for infrastructure improvements and new capability development through science and technology investments
• Provide recommendations on annual funding investment strategies and capability roadmapsMinimum Qualifications:
  • 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
  • Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or applicants who are eligible for security clearances. Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering, operations research, or related STEM discipline
    • Expertise in the GPS Enterprise: Space, Control Segment, User Equipment--
    • Familiarity with operational-level requirements development and coordination (e.g., JCIDS process)
    • Familiarity with non-space PNT technical solutions
    • Familiarity with space-based PNT technical solutions
    • Understanding of the roles and responsibilities of USSF and space acquisition organizations
    • Ability to travel up to 5%
    • Possess and maintain a TS/SCI level security clearance and the ability to be cleared for other access.Preferred Qualifications:
      • Master's or PhD in technical discipline
      • 2 SOPS/GPS system operations experience
      • MAJCOM or Program Officer staff experience
      • Ability to focus on warfighter (and civil user) mission impact, vice purely system performance
      • Ability to conduct analysis and present findings to senior-level decision makers
      • Comfortable interacting with senior DoD and MITRE personnel
      • Ability to build, maintain and operate within a geographically dispersed/cross-organizational MITRE personal network
      • Ability to think critically with an enterprise view and employ a systems engineering perspective
      • Ability to respectfully shape sponsor's thinking and present dissenting perspectives
