Position Description: Cosmic AES is looking for a Software Architect to support geolocation projects for the US Air Force. The ideal candidate will have experience designing, developing, and deploying mission critical applications. This role will help design and implement software architecture for emerging systems. We are looking for an intellectually curious person with an unquenchable thirst for knowledge that will thrive in a fast-paced Agile environment. Additional requirements include building and optimizing the CI/CD pipeline to release code as quickly and safely as possible, researching emerging technologies, and a passion for automation. Job Duties Design and develop state-of-the art software for geolocation applicationsImplement DSP algorithms in softwareImplement control and status for A/Ds, D/As, FPGAs, and other hardwareTest new capabilities to progress from development to operationsDesign, code, implement, and support deep and detailed monitoring across the DevOps pipelineDesign and build automated deployments that simplify development, increase predictability, ensure quality through automated testing, and provide safe fallbackWork with other engineers and Cosmic AES customers to perform requirements analysis/design tradeoffs and develop solutions in accordance with system/product architecturesDevelop Software & System Architecture Views, using various architecture modeling methods and toolsAnalyze software requirements and cyber-security conformance issuesLead the development of design improvementsMentor team members in software development principles and best practices Required Qualifications: BS or MS Degree in CS, CE, or EE with software emphasis and relevant work experienceExperience in software design, engineering and development skills, including familiarity with modern software development practices and toolsMust have an Active TS/SCI Clearance.10+ years of experience in software development, with 4+ years in technical leadership and architecture rolesBroad automation experience in build, test, configuration, and deployment in complex environments from development to productionStrong systems administration background (Linux, Windows, virtualized, or cloud)SCM experience (Git) and knowledge of branch strategiesStrong experience in multiple languages (C/C++, C#, JavaScript, Python, Java, or others)Experience with automated testingCI Experience in multiple tools (Jenkins, GitLab)Experience with automated configuration managementHistory of owning and driving software releases into productionExperience writing and delivering technical documents and briefings Desired Qualifications: Computer networking experienceSatellite geolocation experienceSatellite communications, DSP, or communications experienceExperience with Agile Methodologies
