If so, we are looking for you!. Beacon is currently seeking a Finance Director to join our team at our Colorado office. This position will report to the CFO of the Southeast/Central Region. Position will have direct responsibility, leadership, and oversight of financial analysis and budgeting.. What does a typical day look like?. Budgeting –. Manage the annual budget process for the CO partnership and CO Beacon administration.. Assist CO partnership in state rate setting process.. Perform system updates and loads to “seed” the Hyperion budget system with accurate data.. Develop annual targets and assist in developing the overall CO annual budget target.. Forecasting / Reporting / Analysis –. Work in collaboration with CO partnership management staff and partner CFO’s on all monthly financial statement items and statement preparation.. Monthly finance committee and board presentations.. Creation of monthly journal entries for CO partnership and CO Beacon administration based on GAAP principles.. Manage partnership distributions and AP processing.. Assist and support corporate departments in the preparation of quarterly statuatory filings.. Lead, direct, and provide support for the CO partnership external audit.. Establish financial goals, strategies, and business models including work on new products or synergies.. Direct responsibility for client-specific profit/loss analyses and for designing “what-if” scenarios around changes to contracts in CO.. Perform monthly variance reports.. Working with actuarial and underwriting teams, forecast results in financial terms and make recommendations to improve CO financial results.. Implement all changes to systems, as needed.. Monthly/Quarterly Operations Support –. Review and/or prepare monthly financial analysis and supporting documentation.. Present results of Southeast/Central Region to operating departments, and others.. Internal utilization cost management for health plan risk accounts – lead any required research and identify utilization and unit cost trends. Work directly with General Accounting / oversee risk account medical expense analysis.. Leadership of processes to ensure proper revenue recognition, recording, and billing in accordance with client contracts. Special Projects –. Provide analysis to senior management for frequent special projects. What you Contribute?. Education: A four-year degree in accounting, finance or business is required, and M.B.A.. Licensure: CPA required (can be waived for MBA).. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:. Minimum seven years Finance / Accounting experience in an analytical role with financial statement preparation is required; budget experience preferred. Additionally, two years or more healthcare specific experience preferred.. Strong analytical abilities and coordination/self-direction capabilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in fast paced environments with changing priorities.. Must have demonstrated ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.. Strong Information Technology and financial systems experience required, with experience in PC based, AS/400, Oracle, Hyperion and ESSBASE preferred.. Knowledgeable in Financial, Demographic and Clinical Data. MS Office including Excel and Powerpoint. Strong analytical abilities and coordination/self-direction capabilities. Strong operational understanding and ability to drive change in an organization.. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. Knowledge of call center and / or shared services environment. Knowledge of healthcare industry and Managed Care Organizations.
