Bilingual Lamb Abattoir Operations Manager Company: Superior Farms Location: Denver, Colorado Reports To: Operations Manager & General Manager Job Type: Full-time, on site | Shifts Available: First shift Compensation: $73,000 - $75,000 per year DOE A day in this role You arrive to the harvest floor and start with a quick safety huddle—aligning the team on targets for throughput, yield, and quality. You review staffing levels, adjust placements to optimize the line, and verify that all equipment is ready. A production variance in the morning prompts you to coach a lead, update the schedule, and implement a corrective action. By midday, you’re meeting with the Operations Manager to align on budgets and forecasts, and by afternoon you’re analyzing productivity and safety reports, updating departmental goals, and ordering supplies to stay ahead of demand. Throughout the day, you’re switching fluidly between English and Spanish to guide, train, and motivate the team while ensuring USDA, FDA, EPA, and OSHA standards are met. What you’ll lead Provide clear direction, coaching, training, and development to harvest department employees; foster strong communication across the floor. Serve as an active member of the management team, handling additional duties at the direction of the Operations Manager and General Manager. Own production scheduling: set work schedules, departmental targets, and performance expectations for people and output. Oversee full supervisory scope—hiring, performance management, discipline, development, resource planning, and training. Build, manage, and report on departmental budgets and production forecasts. Develop, analyze, and present reports on forecasts, productivity, and safety performance. Coordinate workflow management, labor scheduling, and employee placement to meet or exceed facility and company goals. Apply technical expertise to troubleshoot production issues and ensure robust corrective actions are implemented and sustained. Manage procurement of supplies and equipment for the department. Use problem-solving, team-building, process control, and continuous improvement tools to achieve key operating metrics. Plan and track throughput and efficiency; take timely action to protect quality and hit volume commitments. Implement and uphold safety standards required by law and company policy. Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies including USDA, FDA, EPA, and OSHA. Qualifications You consistently deliver results while maintaining high safety and quality standards. You’re comfortable leading people, data, and processes in a dynamic harvest environment and can switch between English and Spanish with ease. Bilingual (English/Spanish) required. Able to read/interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures; write routine reports; present to small groups; and respond to sensitive inquiries. High school diploma or GED required. 3 years of relevant experience and/or training in meat processing or related operations; or equivalent combination of education and experience. HACCP Certification required. Minimal travel; strong professionalism and discretion handling confidential matters; adept at multitasking and working effectively with all levels. Work environment Expect occasional exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and work at heights or around fumes/airborne particles. Temperatures vary; noise is typically moderate.
