OpenShift Administrator Location:Remote Job ID: 71213 Pay Range:
$80-96 The deadline to apply is 07/18/2025 We are looking for a
consultant to come support us for IBM cloud Pak for data platform
support, this would require the candidate to have the following
skills: An effective OpenShift administrator, an individual should
possess a combination of technical skills, knowledge, and
experience in the following areas: Core Skills: 1.
Containerization: Understanding of containerization concepts,
including Docker, and container orchestration using Kubernetes. 2.
Linux: Proficiency in Linux operating systems, including Red Hat
Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or similar distributions. 3. Networking:
Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, and
load balancing. 4. Security: Understanding of security best
practices, including authentication, authorization, and encryption.
5. Troubleshooting: Strong troubleshooting skills, including log
analysis, debugging, and problem-solving. OpenShift Specific
Skills: 1. OpenShift Architecture: Understanding of OpenShift
architecture, including masters, nodes, and etcd. 2. OpenShift CLI:
Proficiency in using the OpenShift CLI (oc) to manage and
troubleshoot OpenShift clusters. 3. OpenShift Web Console:
Familiarity with the OpenShift web console and its features. 4.
Project and Application Management: Understanding of how to create,
manage, and scale projects and applications in OpenShift. 5. Image
Management: Knowledge of how to manage container images, including
building, pushing, and pulling images. Kubernetes Skills: 1.
Kubernetes Concepts: Understanding of Kubernetes concepts,
including pods, services, deployments, and persistent volumes. 2.
Kubernetes CLI: Proficiency in using the Kubernetes CLI (kubectl)
to manage and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters. 3. Kubernetes
Networking: Knowledge of Kubernetes networking concepts, including
services, endpoints, and network policies. Additional Skills: 1.
Automation: Understanding of automation tools, such as Ansible, and
how to use them to automate OpenShift tasks. 2. Monitoring and
Logging: Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools, such as
Prometheus and Grafana, and how to use them to monitor OpenShift
clusters. 3. Backup and Restore: Understanding of how to backup and
restore OpenShift clusters, including etcd and persistent volumes.
4. Scalability and Performance: Knowledge of how to optimize
OpenShift cluster performance and scalability. 5. Collaboration:
Ability to work collaboratively with development teams, including
understanding of agile development methodologies and DevOps
practices. Certifications: 1. Red Hat Certified Specialist in
OpenShift Administration: This certification demonstrates expertise
in OpenShift administration and is highly recommended for OpenShift
administrators. 2. Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA): This
certification demonstrates expertise in Kubernetes administration
and is also highly recommended for OpenShift administrators. People
