Launch and Missile Defense Systems (LMDS) has an exciting career
opportunity for a Software Engineer -to join our team of qualified,
diverse individuals. This position is in Colorado Springs, CO.
Position Overview: The selected candidate will support a growing
portfolio of programs and IRADs that focus on missile defense and
hypersonic technologies and will be a core contributor supporting
the analysis of raw missile defense simulation outputs. - Some
domestic and international travel (up to 10%) may be required,
dependent on program needs. This position will specifically focus
on supporting the analysis of system model performance. Seeking
candidates who find satisfaction in working on challenging and
diverse assignments in collaborative settings across all levels.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in a STEM field and 2 years of related
experience OR Master of Science in a STEM field and 0 years of
related experience
- Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government
DoD issued Secret security clearance at the time of application
which is required to start.
- Ability and willingness to travel up-to 10% to support business
needs
- Software development experience with C++ or Python programming
languages
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively in a
team setting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skillsPreferred
Qualifications
- Proficiency with the Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Confluence,
Bitbucket)
- Experience with source control tools (e.g., Git, SVN,
Mercurial)
- In-depth knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
- Proficient in the use of CMake build system
- Understanding of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment
(CI/CD) practices
- Comprehensive experience with the Advanced Framework for
Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM)
- Proven track record utilizing agile development
methodologies
- Experience with database management systems, particularly
MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQLite
- Develop, test, and deploy software applications in a Linux
environment
- Active DOD Top Secret ClearanceSalary Range: $81,300 -
$121,900The above salary range represents a general guideline;
however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when
determining base salary offers such as the scope and
responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience,
education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the
position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift
differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as
well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in
Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term
Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of
benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability
insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off
