CTG is seeking to fill aDevOps Platform Engineeropening for our
client based in Buffalo, NY.
Location:Remote
Duration:6 months, with potential for extension or hire
Pay Rate:Based on experience
Overview:
As DevOps Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring
the deployment, reliability and performance of our infrastructure
used to build, test, deploy, observe, and operate enterprise
applications, and web services. In this position you will lead
technical efforts in containerization and the deployment of
applications into the private and public cloud. To be considered
you must have solid and demonstrable experience designing
application infrastructure and automation operations. You must have
a solid understand of how applications consume infrastructure and
understand release cadences.
Primary Responsibilities:
Partner with applications teams to design and build highly scalable
and reliable infrastructure
Partner with applications and infrastructure teams to orchestrate
and automate application deployments
Build automation and process to enable self-serve production
deployments
Code, configure, integrate, manage, and enhance various automation
tools.
Partner with the relevant team members and managers to build out
platform observability
Participate in application and infrastructure release and
deployment activities.
Solid knowledge of domain and industry tools (CNCF, DevOps, CI/CD,
Container Registries)
Solid experience deploying highly available applications in
on-premises environments and Azure clouds
Must have demonstrated skills and experience writing Ansible
playbooks for automation and building pipelines
Experience with infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform,
Ansible)
Experience working with container and container orchestration
Experience working with build, test, and deployment tools
Experience working with Source Control Management Systems
Education and Experience Preferred:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
Combined minimum of 12 years higher education and/ or work
experience in systems design, management, and/or architecture.
Thorough understanding of the system development and infrastructure
lifecycle and architecture, vendor best practices, IT Service
Management, and systems design.
Minimum 12 years advanced experience in a technical engineering
position involving infrastructure design technologies, data
management and interchange, system design and/or development for
complex applications.
Ability to translate complex business and functional requirements
into structured high quality implementations using any variety of
industry standard approaches.
Demonstrated ability to develop alternative solutions to complex
problems and recommend the best solution to the technology
business, and project teams.
Advanced technical skills.
Advanced analytical skills.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the
ability to interact professionally with a diverse group is
required.
