Job Description:

The Senior Developer will be responsible for developing, supporting, and implementing enterprise level business intelligence solutions for Sovos Brands utilizing Microsoft SQL Server business intelligence tools including SSRS, SSIS, SSAS and Power BI.
This role will serve as a subject matter expert on Sovos Brands reporting solutions and will be a major contributor to the Modern Data Team. The primary focus will be on designing and developing using best practice to deliver SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) ETL solutions that meet the business needs.
The ideal candidate will be capable of quickly understanding business processes, writing and optimizing complex queries and store procedures in T-SQL, maintaining the ongoing reporting inventory, resolving issues, managing the service requests and projects, and monitoring SQL Server jobs and report subscriptions.
This is a hybrid position based out of Louisville, Colorado, Bellvue, Colorado, Berkeley, California, Montclair, New Jersey, or Austin, Texas.
Job responsibilities:

• Analyze new report requests and existing report enhancement requests to obtain requirements and identify level of effort.
• Work with the team to discuss request prioritization and identifying the appropriate business intelligence solutions to meet the requirements.
• Develop, test, and implement operational reports utilizing T-SQL and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and source control adhering to best practices.
• Develop, optimize, test and implement ETL solutions through SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and source control adhering to best practices.
• Validate report functionality with internal staff and/or business users.
• Write ad-hoc queries as needed.
• Manage existing reports and report subscriptions.
• Resolve reporting errors and escalate the issues when appropriate.
• Monitors the Sovos IT ticketing system for any reporting and analytics support related issues.
• Monitor daily SQL jobs and implement appropriate solutions to minimize service interruptions.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on Sovos Reporting solutions.
• Provides ongoing training for existing and new Reporting and Analytics users. Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Business or equivalent.
  • Strong skills in working with relational and dimensional data models.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing process design, development, source control and performance tuning.
  • 5+ years of SQL Server database design and development (i.e., stored procedures, views, T-SQL).
  • 5+ years of experience with report development in SSRS.
  • 2+ years of experience with developing or maintaining ETL solutions using SSIS or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical skills for reviewing procedures and processes to develop logical and scalable solutions.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, specifically power pivot functionality.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to details and focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks and to self-manage deliverables, meetings, and information gathering.
  • Strong team player and individual contributor.
  • Excellent communication skills - able to present options and solutions in a way that can easily be understood by business users. Preferred Qualifications:
    • Development experience with SSAS Tabular, Power BI or Python is a plus.
      The targeted budget for this position is $95k - 115k per year. This compensation budget range may be adjusted at any time at the discretion of the company.
