As a Principal Engineer Systems Tester, you will perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

We are seeking applicants for a position on the Sustainment and Modernization of Radar Sensors (SMORS) program as an Associate Engineer Systems Test. This position will serve as a Test Engineer focused on the Ballistic Missile Early Warning System (BMEWS) / PAVE Phased Array Warning System (PAWS) (BPP). This position is located in Colorado Springs, CO.

What You'll Get to Do:

• Lead site test activities with less experienced test personnel and site personnel
• Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules, identify program risks and obtain solutions to include allocation of resources
• Support the development of system test solutions in accordance with project technical, schedule and cost constraints
• Prepare and execute comprehensive system/element level test plans, procedures and test events
• Participate in system/element level test planning and test readiness reviews
• Document test requirements and methodologies in the requirements management system
• Train less experienced personnel on the system test processes and procedures
• Review system engineering documentation to ensure test plans and methodologies meet system needs and are accurate, comprehensive, consistent and complete
• Participate in trade studies to support the selection of preferred design solutions, commercial hardware or software components, and preferred course of action alternatives in project development/product delivery
• Support the development of system integration plans, procedures and scenarios used in the conduct of software/hardware system integration testing
• Participate in engineering peer reviews as a document originator or reviewer to ensure technical quality and engineering rigor is appropriate Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) discipline with 5 years of systems or test engineering experience; or 3 years' experience with a Master's degree in STEM related discipline
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Experience in with Unix/Linux operating systems
  • Experience in using a discrepancy management tool, such as Jira, Bugzilla, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time Preferred Qualifications:
    • Familiarity with Agile software development methodology
    • Familiarity with ground-based radars such as Perimeter Acquisition Radar Attack Characterization System (PARCS) and/or Ballistic Missile Early Warning System (BMEWS) Precision Acquisition Vehicle Entry (PAVE) Phased Array Warning System (PAWS) (BPP)
    • Experience with test automation
    • Experience in writing scripts using scripting languages such as Korn Shell, Bourne Shell, Python, Perl, bash, tcl, etc.
    • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced, team oriented environment
    • Self-starter - efficient in achieving goals and proactive in pursuing subsequent tasks
    • Familiarity with MS Office suite of tools (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
    • Security + Certification
    • Experience in using a requirements management tool, such as DOORS Salary Range: $95,100 USD - $142,700 USD
      
      Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
