history.Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is the prime
contractor for the Joint Tactical Ground Station (JTAGS)
Pre-Planned Product Improvement (P3I) program. The JTAGS-P3I team
is developing and deploying mission ground processing systems
worldwide. These systems receive process and disseminate Overhead
Persistent Infrared (OPIR) sensor data in support of the theater
missile-warning mission.NGDS has an opening for a Systems
Administrator/Principal Systems Administrator to join our JTAGS-P3I
team located in Colorado Springs, CO.Responsibilities of this
position will include the following:
- Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems,
including coordination with network administrators.
- Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
- Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software,
coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
- Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation
related to the use of computing resources.
- Participate in CONUS and OCONUS system and software deployment
and sustainment activities (travel required).
- Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and
service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system
performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass
storage space.This requisition is open as a dual level opportunity.
We are open to filling at a level 2 or 3 based on the
qualifications below:Level 2 Requirements: Bachelor's degree with
2+ years of experience in System Administration or similar field OR
Master's degree with 0 years of experience OR 6 years of experience
in lieu of degree.Level 3 Requirements: Bachelor's degree with 5+
years of experience in System Administration or similar field OR
Master's degree with 3 years of experience OR 9 years of experience
in lieu of degree.Basic Qualifications:
- Candidate must possess active DOD Secret security
clearance.
- Candidate must hold an active DoD 8570 IA Workforce Improvement
Program IAT Level II Technical Level Certification/s (e.g.
Security+)
- System administrator experience using Red Hat Enterprise Linux
(v6 and v7)
- System administrator experience with MS Windows (e.g., server
2012, 2019, Win10, etc.)
- Familiarity with network devices such as routers, switches,
firewalls, and cryptographic equipment
- Familiarity with server architecture and data processing
hardware
- Familiarity with network switching, network attached storage,
firewall appliances, intrusion detection devices
- Familiarity with information assurance guidelines and
practicesPreferred Qualifications:
- Prior JTAGS experience
- System administration experience with LDAP
- Scripting experience/software integration knowledge
- Training or advanced knowledge specific to Cisco, NetApp, HP
servers, and Dell servers
- Experience with antivirus patching, vulnerability scanning, and
STIG implementation
- Experience with tactical radio sets and RF systems
- Experience with direct downlink antenna systems
- Mechanically inclined with working knowledge of standard
mechanical tools
- Experience with formatting hard drives, imaging hard drives,
managing backups
- Perform backups, perform periodic backups, and implement
