Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Software
Engineerto join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This
position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO. Position
Overview: As part of the Specialized Warfighter Development
Contract (SWDC) the Warfighter Simulation and Services (WSS) team
offers opportunities to support the U.S. Missile Defense System
through the development of Modeling and Simulation applications
used in warfighter training and exercises, concept evaluation,
developmental engineering, testing and verification, and
assessment.The selected Software Engineer will support the Missile
Defense Advanced Simulation (MDASim) project on the Specialized
Warfighter Development Contract (SWDC). This role designs,
develops, tests, documents and integrates simulation products for
MDASim using C++ and/or C# programming languages on Windows
operating systems. Essential Functions:
- Designing and developing software to model various missile and
air defense capabilities and concepts.
- Additional responsibilities could include interfacing with
MDASim customers and presenting technical briefings to MDASim
stakeholders. The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced
work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse
assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels. Basic
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering
or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university
and2 years of related experience, or a Master's degree in a STEM
discipline and 0 years of related experience.
- Experience developing software in object-oriented programming
languages such as C, C++, or Java.
- Ability and willingness to travel 10% to support business
needs.
- Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain an active U.S.
Government security clearance at the DoD secret level. Preferred
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or
related field.
- Experience in software development, including analysis, design,
code, test and integration.
- Strong, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
to collaborate effectively with technical teams and customer
personnel.
- Experience in engineering M&S systems using an optimistic
and/or conservative discrete event simulation platform.
- Knowledge or experience in several of the following: missile
defense domain knowledge, command and control, and modeling and
simulation development.
- Experience in agile software development methodologies like
Scrum or Kanban.
- Experience with JIRA and GIT.
- A current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret security
clearance. Salary Range: $74,900 USD - $112,300 USD Employees may
be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as
well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in
Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term
