Northrop Grumman Space Systems - Launch and Missile Defense Systems
has an exciting career opportunity for a Software Engineer to join
our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be
located in Colorado Springs, CO.
The selected Software Engineer will support the Ballistic Missile
Defense International Simulation (BMD I-Sim) product line of the DE
Task Order on the Specialized Warfighter Development Contract
(SWDC) program. Will design, develop, test, document and integrate
simulation products for the Ballistic Missile Defense International
Simulation (BMD I- Sim) organization using C++ and/or C#
programming languages on Windows operating systems.
- Designing and developing software to model various BMDS
elements capabilities .
- Support the modeling and simulation of missile defense
- Additional responsibilities could include interfacing with BMD
I-Sim customers and presenting technical briefings to BMD I- Sim
stakeholders. The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced
work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse
assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering
or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university
and 2 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree in a STEM
discipline and 0 years of related experience.
- Experience developing software in object-oriented programming
languages such as C, C++, or Java.
- Ability and willingness to travel 10% to support business
- Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain an active U.S.
Government security clearance at the DoD secret level.Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or
- Experience in all phases of software development, including
analysis, design, code, test and integration.
- Strong, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
to collaborate effectively with technical teams and customer
- Experience in engineering M&S systems using an optimistic
and/or conservative discrete event simulation platform.
- Knowledge or experience in several of the following: missile
defense domain knowledge, command and control, and modeling and
- Familiarity with Agile software development practices.
- Experience in agile software development methodologies like
- Experience with JIRA and GIT.
- A current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret security
clearance. Salary Range: $74,900 USD - $112,300 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to
base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual
contributions as well as allow employees to share in company
results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be
eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman
