The College of Engineering & Applied Science at the University
of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) will establish and maintain a
pool of Lecturers in Computer Science from which future
appointments to temporary, non-tenure track positions will be made.
Appointments are part-time (less than 50% time) and will be made
semester-by-semester.This position will teach classes for the
department of Computer Science. Classes may be on-campus, online,
or hybrid. Examples of courses/subject area include the following:*
Programming in Java, C, C , C#, Python* Data Structures* Unix* Web
Programming* Computer Architecture* Concepts of Programming
Languages* Databases* Ethical Hacking* Ethics in Computing*
Principles of CybersecurityThis position has been determined to be
exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards
Act.Who We Are:UCCS is one of four campuses in the University of
Colorado system and is home to over 10,500 undergraduate and 1,900
graduate students. The Computer Science Department offers BS, BA
and BI degrees in Computer Science; BI degrees in Game Design and
Development, and Cybersecurity; MS in Computer Science and ME in
Cybersecurity; and PhD degrees in Computer Science and

$4,000-$5,500 per 3-credit hour course. Pay rate is dependent upon
education and experience of the lecturer. Compensation is prorated
based on course credit hours.Temporary Lecturer appointments are
not eligible for group health and life insurance benefits or
vacation leave accrual. This position is eligible for paid sick

third day of work.Minimum Qualifications:* Master's degree in
Computer Science or a related area such as Mathematics, Information
Systems, CybersecurityPreferred Qualifications:* A terminal degree
in Computer Science or a related area* At least four months
teaching experience.* Ability or interest in teaching online
classes.* Relevant industry experience that includes current
engagement in professional activities.Physical Requirements:* While
performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently
required to move.* Employee is occasionally required to have long
periods of sitting, moderate bending, and fine motor skills.
