The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), Space Command and Control (SC2) Software Engineering team is seeking a Associate Modeling and Simulation Software Services Engineer to support Space Battle Management, Command, Control and Communications (BMC3) and Space Domain Awareness (SDA) programs, as well as Internal Research and Development (IRAD) investments in Colorado Springs, CO.

The Software Engineer will perform as part of a high-performing team and have the opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of innovative technology in an agile environment.

Position Responsibilities:
Prototyping modeling and simulation capabilities using agile software development

Working in a multi-functional team environment

Develop and maintain code and that integrates into a functional software system

Execute software design, development, debugging, and performing software integration and test of various technologies

Perform spacecraft modeling and optimization algorithm design and implementation

Execute and document software research and development projects

Integration and test

As a member of the Boeing team, you will be responsible for key portions of our software development lifecycle, from idea creation and development, all the way through to maintenance and support of the customer's delivered system. This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Security Clearance and Investigation
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required

Required skills include:
Bachelor degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree

2 or more years of experience with web service development using Python and Java (SpringBoot)/C#

2 or more years of experience with message-oriented Middleware (ActiveMQ, Redis, Kafka)

Experience working within integrated development environments

2 or more years of experience with software design, development, debugging, and performing software integration and test

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Active U.S. Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) Security Clearance with the ability to obtain program access

Experience working in an Agile software development environment utilizing Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.) or similar tools.

Experience with container development (Docker/container/Kubernetes)

Experience with full stack software development

Experience with spacecraft modeling and optimization algorithm design and implementation

Experience with PostgresQL or other database packages managing satellite command and telemetry packages

Agile Certifications (SAFe, CSM, etc.)

Experience with DevOps or DevSecOps

Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Summary pay range: Min: $61,000 - Max: $108,000.
