Job Ad Template OU.LOCATION Summary: Under supervisor by SHE Manager, researches and develops riskassessment program and contractor safety program. This internship is designed to be both educational and practical. Inthis position, the intern will learn how to take skills acquired inschool and apply them in a professional setting. The candidate willalso have opportunities to network and work across multipledisciplines within the business in a fast-paced and growingSemiconductor and Space organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Evaluate current risk assessment program. Research, evaluate and recommend different types of riskassessments and ways to improve current program. Evaluate current contractor safety program.Review and implement appropriate changes to improve currentprogram.Recruit, build and create a Risk Assessment Team.Partner with appropriate departments and leaders within thebusiness to conduct risk assessments, as appropriateAssist the SHE Department in managing health and safety risksto Cobham employees and visitors.Coordinate site wide SHE Training ProgramsOther Duties and Responsibilities: Assist SHE Dept with other day-to-day activities which mayinclude accident investigations and facility wide projects. Participate in Training of the Emergency Response Team (ERT),SHE Oversite Team and SHE Committee.Assist with evaluation of current safety training programs,and improvements to programs.Conduct daily and weekly inspections of various SHE relatedequipment.Assist with handling/disposal of hazardous waste and universalwasteEducation & Experience Requirements: Currently enrolled in and working toward a Bachelor's degreein safety, health and/or environmental related fields.High school diploma and 1-2 years of relevant experience.Minimum GPA of 3.0Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage tasks in a fast paced environment.Strong detail orientation.Computer Skills: Demonstrated skills in the use of Microsoft Officeapplications including Outlook, Excel, Word, andAccess. Security: All applicants must be a U.S Citizen or U.S Person as defined byITAR (a lawful permanent resident or someone who is a protectedindividual as defined by 8 U.S.C.1324b(a)(3)). In order to beeligible for positions requiring a Security Clearance, you must be aUS Citizen.
