Must-Have: Candidates without these skills will not be considered
for the role. ACLS certification. Experience with drips such as
heparin, diltiazem, amiodarone, nitroglycerin, Lasix, and ketamine.
PCU experience with cardiac experience. Description: This role
involves travel nursing in a progressive care unit. The unit
consists of 20 beds and has a staff of approximately 40, including
RNs and PCTs. The day shift team includes one charge RN, five
nurses, and three PCTs. The night shift team consists of one charge
RN, five nurses, and two PCTs. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4.
Types of equipment utilized include telemetry, transport monitors,
suction devices, feeding pumps, tracheostomy equipment, bipap,
cpap, heated high flow, chest tubes, foleys, pacer wires, and IV
pumps. The electronic medical record system used is Meditech.
Candidates will be expected to perform typical procedures such as
chest tube placement and removal, pacer wire removal, and 12 lead
EKGs. Ideal candidates will be great team players with high energy.
This is a fast-paced and challenging cardiac unit with high acuity
patients. The unit values teamwork and collaboration among staff.
