Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes: /n/n Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available. /n/n Opportunity: /n RN - Med Surg /n/n Job Details: /n • Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM /n• Seasonal travel nursing position /n• Work on a busy 33-room medical telemetry unit caring for up to 49 patients /n• Patient ratio of 5:1 during night shift /n• Provide care for medical surgical patients with specialty focus on surgical flap patients and spinal cord injury patients with stage 4 wounds requiring surgical intervention /n• Care for low-acuity burn patients in partnership with burn unit /n• Perform wound care, occasional bowel programs, and light burn care /n• Work with telemetry monitoring equipment /n• Use Meditech EMR system /n• Work may include semi-private rooms when hospital census is high /n• BLS certification required /n• Medical/surgical background required /n• Spinal cord injury experience preferred /n• Must be comfortable working on a busy medical floor /n• Night shift includes 1 charge nurse, 1.5 techs, and 5-6 RNs /n/n Facility: /n This facility is part of a major healthcare system and features a specialized medical surgical unit that focuses on complex care including surgical flap patients and spinal cord injury cases. The medical center operates a busy 6th floor medical telemetry unit with 33 rooms and partnerships with specialized units like the burn center.
