nurse RN Stepdown for a travel nursing job in Colorado Springs,

Unit NotesHiring Process - Candidate interview followed by an
interview with the MedSol Clinical Team - No Unit Manager
involvement Floating & Radius Requirements - Floating Radius: 60
miles (Driver’s License must be submitted) - Travelers are expected
to float throughout the entire zone they are hired into. - Each
zone covers a 60-mile radius from the zone’s city center. -
Travelers are responsible for securing housing that allows them to
meet floating requirements, regardless of housing location. - No
home base facility Orientation - Clinicians must be in-state for
the full week of orientation, even if the first day consists of
remote modules. - Unit/department-specific orientation: 1–2 days
with a preceptor Unit / Department: PCU / IMC Float PoolUnits
Included in Float Pool Multiple PCU/IMC units covering a wide range
of specialties, including: - General Medicine - Cardiac - Neuro -
Oncology - Rehab - Renal - Bariatrics - Orthopedics - Trauma - ED
Observation Nurse-to-Patient Ratios - 1:3–4, depending on patient
acuity Required Certifications - BLS - ACLS - NIHSS - TNCC
preferred Patient Population & Diagnoses - Population: Adults to
geriatrics - Common diagnoses include: - Cardiac - Neurological -
Orthopedic - Oncology - Renal - Urology (post-surgical) - General
Surgery (post-appendectomy) - Gynecology - Psych/Detox - ENT -
General Medicine - Stable long-term placement patients - And more
Required Experience & Skills - Minimum 2 years of PCU/IMC
experience - Prior neuro experience preferred - Epic experience
preferred - Must have experience with: - Cardiac drips - Insulin -
Ativan Drip Management - RNs must be comfortable titrating and
managing: - Cardiac drips - Insulin - Ativan - Heparin Common
Drips: - Dopamine - Dobutamine - Cardizem - Amiodarone - Ativan -
Insulin - Heparin Staffing & Support - Charge Nurse: Designated
charge nurse on each unit - Typically does not take an assignment
unless necessary - Night shift charge more commonly carries a small
patient assignment - Nurse Aides: Yes - Respiratory Equipment:
Vents, CPAP, BiPAP available Scheduling & Shifts - Shifts: 7:00 AM
– 7:00 PM / 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM - Schedules are created by leadership
6 weeks in advance - Travelers must be flexible and help fill
staffing gaps - All time-off requests must be submitted prior to
assignment start Weekend & Holiday Requirements - 6–9 weekend
shifts per 6-week schedule - May be required to participate in
holiday rotation Call / Standby - Rare; only for low census Unit
Assignment - Assignments may include floating to: - ICU (low-acuity
holds within skill set) - PCU / Stepdown - Med-Surg Tele - Float
assignments are communicated via schedule or daily assignment
tools. Scrub Color - Any color permitted Regional Float Policy (No
Home Base Facility) Travelers may be assigned to sister facilities
within the zone: Zone 1 – Colorado Springs, CO - Penrose Hospital

Phay Ave, Canon City, CO You will receive a float assignment
specifying your work location for each schedule. Your initial float
assignment will be communicated on or before your Monday start
date.
