Oncology for a travel nursing job in Denver, Colorado. Job

Avenue Floor: 8A Building: PSLMC General Information Tell us about
the unit(s): Number of Beds - 18 Number of Staff – 37 Type of
staff: Day Shift – 1 charge (no pt assignment), 3-5 RNs, 1 CNA
Night Shift – 1 charge (no pt assignment), 3-5 RNs Patient Ratios –
3-4: 1, Type of equipment – tele, bladder scanner, alaris pump and
alaris PCA, EMR - meditech Typical hiring profile Skill Set Most
recruited for: (Travel RNs, local CNAs and sitters) Must have :
candidates without these skills will not be considered for the
role. 2 years experience BLS, Chemo cert Compassionate for oncology
pt population and the chronic pts Quick learner Preferred or nice
to have : candidates with these skills will be considered first.
Chemo and biotherapy certificate Step down experience, we use lots
of standing orders (fluid bolus, first fever) and very acute
hematology pts. List typical procedures performed on unit(s):
Lumbar puncture, bone marrow biopsies with conscious sedation and
no sedation Thoracentesis Best personality Fit: compassionate
adaptable Unit Guidelines/Policies : Please feel free to attach
unit policies and guidelines. We give lots of meds, blood and
electrolyte replacements on this unit. (see policies attached)
Please know you will not administer chemo/biotherapy, if you are
not certified. You will be around hazardous drugs though. Education
