Infection Prevention Nurse (RN) Peak Vista Community Health
Centers is a nonprofit health care organization whose mission is to
provide exceptional health care to people facing access barriers
through clinical programs and education. We provide integrated
health care services to include medical, dental and behavioral
health throughout 24 outpatient health centers within El Paso,
Teller, Lincoln, Adams, and Kit Carson counties. We deliver care
with our strong "Hospitality" culture. Our organization has over
800 employees and serves more than 89,000 patients annually in the
Pikes Peak and East Central regions of Colorado. Peak Vista is
accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health
Care, Inc. (AAAHC). Compensation (Pay): $65,927.17 to
$95,594.40/annually, based on experience. A $5000 sign on bonus
will be paid in the following manner: $1250 payout upon 30 days of
employment, $1250 payout upon 90 days of employment, $1250 payout
upon 6 months of employment, and $1250 payout after 9 months of
employment . Current employees are not eligible for the sign on
bonus. Loyalty Bonus - $5000 upon 1 year of service and then a
$1250 payout for every additional 3 months worked. This applies to
only FT employees. The amount will be prorated for PT employees.

Perks Rewards Employee Assistance Program Job Summary: The primary
function of this position is to plan, coordinate and implement all
activities of Infection Prevention Services within applicable scope
and standards of practice. Collaborates with all departments,
managers, supervisors and/or employees to execute well-defined
Infection Prevention Services. The RN will collaborate with Risk
Management and other departments to ensure compliance with Peak
Vista's Infection Prevention and Control Programs and ensures
compliance with all regulatory requirements. Essential Duties and
Responsibilities Educates staff on workplace safety and what to do
in the event of a breach from an infection prevention perspective.
Assists with educating employees on exposure risk based on job
classification, vaccination benefits and recommendations, and the
risks associated with exposure to blood borne illness and other
potentially infectious organisms. Responsible for Infection Control
activities within the organization to ensure processes and
standards meet requirements for governing and accrediting
organizations and CDC, APIC, and the State of Colorado Department
of Health requirements. Participates in investigation of unusual
clinical infection exposures or outbreaks, utilizing microbiology
laboratory, county/state health departments and if necessary, the
Center for Disease Control. Coordinates with the Employee Health
Nurse to assist with Workers Compensation to aid with monitoring
claims and trends related to infection prevention. Conducts
environmental rounds, collects data, and completes audits to
monitor for compliance. Evaluates the effectiveness of the
Infection Prevention Plan and modify as necessary. Compiles and
interprets surveillance reports and statistical data for department
and committee review. Participates in quality/performance
improvement by assessing, monitoring and measuring infection
prevalence. Make recommendations concerning protocols and
processes. Supports and ensures completion regarding the reporting
of communicable disease results to the county and/or state health
department and maintains appropriate records. Responsible for
collaboration, education, and intervention with staff and
volunteers when infection trends or non-compliance are identified.
Responsible for infection prevention and control education of hand
hygiene, Sharps Safety, bloodborne pathogens and other infection
prevention standards for all employees during new employee
Orientation (NEO) and on an annual basis. Leads the Quarterly
Infection Prevention team meetings for the organization. Assists
Employee Health with the Respiratory Protection Program. Ability to
frequently travel inside and outside of the Colorado Springs area.
Provides support and guidance to the sterile processing team and
reports findings to the sterile processing leadership, ADON, DON.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual

an accredited Nursing Program required. BSN preferred. Work
Experience: Minimum 1-3 years of nursing experience required with a
minimum of l year in an infection control required; ambulatory
care/primary care setting experience preferred; knowledge of
process improvement or infection control in a healthcare setting
preferred. Computer Skills: Intermediate - ability to access the
intra/internet to manage timecard, review policies and procedures,
and read company communications; use e-mail to communicate with
co-workers, leadership, and other departments; use and create a
variety of templates and PowerPoints, create interactive
presentations using a variety of technology, complex tables,
customize toolbars, import and insert graphs, embed Excel data, and
create detailed reports; work with multiple worksheets, filter
data, and manipulate databases. Certificates and Licenses: Current
Colorado RN License required. Colorado Driver's License and
Insurance as required by state law. Current CPR/BLS required. Work
