Job Description:
Job Summary: Essential member of the Psychiatric Services Team.
Collaborates with physicians/mid-levels, nurses, and medical
leadership to meet the clients needs where they are at. Performs
preliminary patient care, including vital signs, interviewing,
screening requirements and documentation of visit needs. Familiar
with basic psychiatric medications, diagnosis, and treatment
planning. Displays infection prevention practices while providing
patient care. Schedules appointments and performs the intake
functions for connecting patients into psychiatric services.
Completes needed paperwork and follows up with timely communication
to clients. Other miscellaneous delegated duties under the
direction of a medical/clinical licensed professional.Essential
Functions:Reviews charts to determine treatment and administrative
prioritiesParticipates in team huddles (staffing)Supports clinic
work flow by rooming patients and completing all needed
documentationPrepares patient rooms using infection control
practicesFacilitates telepsych care to include navigation and
preliminary troubleshooting of technology involvedPerform patient
vitals, to include pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight,
height and SPO2, and report any abnormal to nursing/provider
staff.May perform phlebotomyMedication InjectionsUpdates patient
information accurately and timely in electronic health
recordPerforms in house CLIA waived testing when applicable.
Completes quality controls as required.Sends and follows up on
patient referrals and lab ordersAssists in completing all incoming
paperwork/forms using patient information from EHR. Forward to
appropriate provider anytime a medical or clinical decision must be
made. Assures appropriate ROI is completed.Monitor and maintain
supply levels; ensure all expired supplies are regularly
removedEffectively and professionally communicate with patients,
internal and external providers and documents all communication in
medical recordsKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:Must be at least 18 years
of ageHigh School Diploma or GED requiredGraduate of Medical
Assistant Program and current RMA or CMA with the state or national
level required at time of application to be considered.Certified
EMT acceptable.Military applicants accepted with equivalent
training and registered/certified certification.Strong customer
service, communication, prioritization, and organization skills
requiredMust have sufficient language skills and be able to
communicate both verbally and in writing to accurately and
professionally implement and document the services provided to
clients.Possess basic computer navigation skills and type 25+
w.p.m. for the input and output of client information, using
electronic record. Excellent data entry skills required.Experience
using various treatment modalities appropriate for specified
population, utilizing strength-based therapeutic
approaches.Experience working in a team environment with rapidly
changing priorities.Current CPR (BCLS) certification
