Providing a full suite of services to the region, from Surgical Services to Home Health Care, and Orthopedics to Oncology Care, the Perioperative Services Nursing Director will be joining a reputable and trusted community hospital.
Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), the Administrative Director of Perioperative Nursing will oversee and lead an experienced and dedicated staff. Offering direct OR support to you, is a tenured CNOR Nursing Manager, two Surgical Services Charge RNs, and a full team of RN-BC nurses to circulate and scrub. Supporting the unit in PreOp and Post-Op patient care, is a strong CPAN Post Anesthesia Unit (PCAU) Nurse Supervisor, and a team of preparation / recovery nurses. Included in the 70+ FTEs that the Director will oversee is also the Sterile Processing department, which has an experienced leader and a tight operation.
Utilizing cutting-edge techniques and technology, the Surgical Services Department keeps its schedule tight and its 12 operating rooms running at full capacity. Well known for an advanced orthopedics program and Total Joint center, the Administrative Director will oversee a unit that also offers a full range of procedures from minimally invasive / robotic assisted, to cardiac and transplants. The Director will discover a unit that’s pushing boundaries in terms of patient care too, as this department offers personalized and compassionate ‘white-glove’ patient services.
The Administrative Director over this busy, dynamic Perioperative Services department will have a crucial role to play in the successful operations of this respected medical center. Strong experience in developing budgetary and staffing policy, as well as the application of quality improvement techniques such as LEAN methodologies, will certainly help in keeping the units running smoothly.
From a clinical standpoint, you’ll play a leading role in establishing and supporting developmental initiatives for the large Surgical Services staff. Working with the health care system’s Nurse Director of Education, as well as unit based Surgical Services RN Educators, you’ll develop initiatives and programs to spark interest in the staff and maintain adherence to evidence-based practices.
