opportunity for a Staff Engineer Software - X-Lab Engineering
Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This
position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO and Schriever
Space Force Base, CO. Position Overview: The Command and Control,
Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates
the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that
enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant
commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to
systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see
the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage
designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global
and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile
defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of
all ranges in all phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier
that globally and regionally networks integrate, synchronizing
autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize
performance. C2BMC is integral to all system ground and flight
tests, which verify and exercise all current and future missile
defense system capabilities. The Engineering Manager (EM) will be
responsible for helping ensure engineering technical, cost, and
schedule performance for assigned product teams are properly
managed. - This position will work supporting both COS-83 and the
MDIOC at Schriever Space Force Base (SSFB) locations but will be
primarily co-located with the X-Lab team at Schriever Space Force
Base. Essential Functions:
- Interface with Control Account Manager (CAMs) and EVM staff to
derive cost and schedule performance
- Manage dependencies between other product teams and support
external dependencies
- Manage and report technical issues
- Support proposal development
- Ensure product team technical commitments are clearly
understood and carried out
- Maintain backlog of assigned features to meet technical
commitments
- Ensure teams are following organization processes
- Produce Estimated Time to Complete/Earned Value Management
(ETC/EVM) and other engineering metrics to identify and address all
technical or staffing issues while managing cost/scheduleBasic
Qualifications: Please note your updated security clearance and
IAT/relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable.
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Computer Science, Technology,
Engineering, Software Engineering or Mathematics) discipline
preferred from an accredited university and -12 years of related
experience or a Master's STEM degree in a related discipline and 10
years of experience, PhD degree in a related discipline with 8
years experience or 16 years of related experience instead of a
degree may be considered
- Applicants must have a current active in-scope DoD-issued
Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is
required to start
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business
needs
- Advises top management and customers on technical research
studies and applications
- Strong leadership experience leading teams
- Experience managing and delivering complex DoD systems
- Experience executing Earned Value Management (EVM)
- Experience with Agile Development Processes and tools such as:
- Jira
- Confluence
- Experience generating metrics
- Experience writing documents
- Experience with C2BMC and/or the Missile Defense System
- Experience with flight test/event planning and execution
- Project management experience
- Agile Iteration planning experience
- Familiar with Confluence to access documents
- Writing job position requisitions
- Experience with managing team monthly charging guidance
(EVM)

C2BMCSalary Range: $155,400 - $233,200The above salary range
represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers
a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the
scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's
experience, education, skills and current market
conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for
overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition
to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual
contributions as well as allow employees to share in company
results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be
eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman
provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage,
life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays
