and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for
a Sr Principal Systems Engineer (24-222) to join our team of
qualified, diverse individuals. The Command and Control, Battle
Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the
Missile Defense System. S. president, secretary of defense, and
combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels
to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see
the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage
designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global
and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile
defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of
all ranges in all phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier
that globally and regionally networks integrate, synchronizing
autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize
performance. C2BMC is integral to all system ground and flight
tests, which verify and exercise all current and future missile
defense system capabilities.
This is a Capability Engineer position for which the selected
applicant will perform the following Use case development and
prepare systems engineering artifacts, including the definition of
Epics and Features to be developed by program Cross-Functional
Product Teams to implement customer-requested capabilities.
Supports the development and review of interface documents, system
requirements, Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM)
development, architectural documentation, system engineering
estimates, and author and performed formal and informal engineering
reviews. Provide use case development support to junior systems
engineering team members to enhance use case skills in the
department. Reviewing the content and details of technical products
and acting as a technical interface to MDA working-level
counterparts on an as-required basis. Work will be performed under
the direction of various technical leads and product owners and
require interfacing with team members, C2BMC management, and
government customers to ensure high-quality products are generated
on time and within the resources available.
Skills-generating system/element level functional, performance, and
interface specifications to document and control the achievement of
the desired capabilities.
- Communicating system-level use cases and associated Epics and
Feature relationships to a diverse group of customers, developers,
engineers, subject matter experts, and users.
- May function in project leadership roles and represent the
organization as prime customer contact on significant technical
matters on contracts.
Please note your updated security clearance and IAT/relevant
certifications on your resume if applicable.
- An active Secret clearance is required to start with the ability
to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
- 9 years with a Bachelor's degree with a STEM concentration or in
a related field; 7 years experience with a master's degree in STEM
concentration or related field
- Must also be flexible and can support various tasks on short
notice.
- Must have demonstrated experience in mission analysis with skill
in developing use cases, sequence diagrams, and SysML modeling in
support of MBSE.
Experience with Agile Methods and Epic and Feature definition is a
significant plus.
- Skills in logical architecture modeling, interface definition,
and knowledge of cyber security concepts and security accreditation
are highly desirable.
