Manager for Construction West, you will lead and oversee
construction projects to ensure their successful completion within
scope, budget, and schedule. Reporting to the Director, you will be
responsible for managing project teams, coordinating resources,
submission of proposals, and ensuring adherence to quality and
safety standards. Your role is crucial in driving project success
and contributing to the overall growth and profitability of the
organization's construction projects in Construction West.

- Salary Range: $115,000 - $145,000
- Main office location: San Antonio, TX and Colorado Springs,
CO
- Travel is required
- Clearance is preferred
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and oversee construction projects from initiation to
completion, ensuring adherence to project objectives, budget, and
schedule.
- Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets in collaboration
with project teams and stakeholders.
- Coordinate resources, including personnel, equipment, and
materials, to ensure efficient project execution.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and
implement corrective actions as necessary to keep projects on
track.
- Communicate regularly with project teams, clients, and
stakeholders to provide updates on project status, address
concerns, and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards,
regulations, and procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and approve project deliverables, including drawings,
specifications, and change orders, to ensure accuracy and
completeness.
- Manage project finances, including tracking expenses, approving
invoices, and monitoring project costs to ensure
profitability.
- Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, including
mentoring and developing team members to enhance their skills and
capabilities.
- Collaborate with the Program Manager to identify opportunities
for process improvement and implement best practices to optimize
project delivery.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
DAILY DUTIES:
- Review project progress reports and address any issues or
concerns that may arise.
- Conduct meetings with project managers to discuss daily
priorities, tasks, and challenges.
- Communicate with clients, stakeholders, and project teams to
provide updates on project status and address any inquiries or
requests.
- Monitor safety compliance and address any safety hazards or
incidents that occur on site.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely
delivery of materials and resources.
- Review project budgets and expenses to track financial
performance and identify any deviations from the budget.
- Provide guidance and support to project managers and team
members as needed to ensure project objectives are met.
- Conduct site visits to inspect project progress, quality, and
safety standards.
WEEKLY DUTIES:
- Conduct weekly project review meetings to assess project
performance, identify risks, and discuss action plans for
addressing issues.
- Review and approve project change orders, budget revisions, and
other contractual documents.
- Compile and analyze project data, including cost reports,
schedule updates, and quality metrics.
- Meet with senior management to provide program updates, discuss
challenges, and propose solutions.
- Conduct performance evaluations for project managers and team
members to provide feedback and identify areas for
improvement.
- Review and update program management processes, procedures, and
best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
MONTHLY DUTIES:
- Prepare monthly program performance reports, including project
status updates, financial summaries, and risk assessments.
- Review and analyze project forecasts and projections to ensure
accuracy and alignment with program goals.
- Conduct monthly safety audits and inspections to assess
compliance with safety regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to review program
financials, reconcile accounts, and address any discrepancies.
- Participate in monthly business review meetings with senior
management to discuss program performance, challenges, and
strategic initiatives.
- Evaluate and approve project proposals and bids submitted by
project managers and subcontractors.
- Conduct program risk assessments and develop risk mitigation
strategies to minimize potential impacts on project delivery.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
- Project Delivery Timeliness: Achieve a project delivery
timeliness rate of 90% or higher.
- Budget Adherence: Maintain adherence to project budgets and
achieve profitability targets.
- Client Satisfaction: Maintain a high level of client
satisfaction through effective communication and successful project
outcomes.
- Safety Performance: Ensure compliance with safety standards and
achieve safety compliance.
- Team Performance: Foster a collaborative and high-performing
team culture, as evidenced by positive team feedback and
performance reviews.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain adherence to quality standards and
achieve project quality goals.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: As the Senior Construction Project
Manager for Construction West, you will lead project teams and
provide supervision, guidance, and support to project managers,
engineers, and other team members. You will be responsible for
managing personnel, assigning tasks, and overseeing their
performance to ensure successful project outcomes. QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction
Management, or related field
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction project
management, with demonstrated success in managing large-scale
projects
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office
Suite
- Knowledge of construction industry regulations, codes, and
standards
